OVERALL PERSONALITY : Half of the people she knows love her, and the other half hate her. It doesn't surprise Janet that lots of people find her annoying. After all, she doesn't know when to shut up. Her humor is sarcastic and she hates it when she's wrong. She will often tell you that you're an idiot and likes to correct people's grammar. Janet's a major show-off. She will show everyone what she can do, even total strangers. If you give her a piece of equipment, she will immediately start spinning it and doing mini routines to show-off. She's kind of self-absorbed. It's not that she doesn't care about other people, she just wants to be the star of everything. Janet's extremely independent and a bit of a feminist.
Of course, there are reasons people like her, too. Janet's a very loyal friend. She's a faithful Christian, but she doesn't shove her religion down people's throats. She does, however, make her boundaries and morals known. She's waiting until she's married to have sex, thinks abortion is wrong, and hates when people make fun of her for it. Janet will keep your secrets on the DL, unless someone will get hurt if she doesn't, making her trustworthy. She's super friendly and enjoys meeting new people. She often goes out of her way to include everyone and make new kids feel welcome. Her motto is, "Always be a little kinder than necessary."
Janet's so afraid to conform to society. It started after she read Anthem by Ayn Rand in eighth grade (which is now her favorite book). She doesn't follow trends. Janet goes against the grain. She loves being an individual. She's also super afraid of thunderstorms and has trouble getting through them. They keep her up at night and chances are she'll have a little panic attack because of them.
SUBJECTS :
- Music - Just because she's moved to college doesn't mean she going to stop playing the flute! She takes music because she loves the subject and theory will help her become a better flutist.
- English - Janet loves reading and English was always her favorite class in high school. She decided to take English for a pure love of the subject.

OVERALL HISTORY :
Janet was born in Halifax on a clear spring day. Her father had grown up in the Scottish province of Canada, while her mother had moved there two years before. The couple wasted no time getting married and having children. She was named Janet Adelaide after her parent's mothers.
When Janet was two, her mother signed her up for ballet at the local dance studio. After all, every girl did ballet when they were two. The difference in Janet was that she continued to dance. She added contemporary and jazz to her palette. Hip-hop was unsuccessful for her. Dance was something she loved and wanted to do for the rest of her life.
After living in Halifax until she was 10, her dad's job transferred them to Texas. The Mackenzies settled in a small town. Janet didn't want to move at all. She had to leave all of her friends and her dance instructor behind in Canada. Besides, she loved how busy and wonderful the city was. Janet didn't want to live in a small town. She got over that, though, when she started making friends. Her friendly nature was inviting, plus she's Canadian, which intrigued people. After some asking around a school, she found a good dance studio, where she started up dancing again.
Dance was her life until march of 7th grade, when her friends convinced her to audition for color guard for next year. She was already a flutist in the concert band, but after seeing some of the older girls spin, Janet decided that she would rather spin in guard than march her flute. At her audition, she learned simple things like drop spins and carves. Janet was ecstatic when the list went up. She had made it.
Color guard came easily to her. Even though she was only in eighth grade her first year, she was put in the front because she had picked it up so quickly, not to mention the guard was small. Eventually, Janet would become one of the best girls on the squad. She continued to dance as well.
The transition into high school was easy for her. She had made lots of friends in marching band that would look out for her. Though she struggled in math and science, she studied has hard as she count and got B's in those classes throughout the year. People had a hard time believe she's Canadian because she had completely lost her accent. The only trace of Canadian left in her voice is when she says "pasta."
She enrolled in all the colleges she could and chose Winchester for the music and English programs. She knew there were better colleges out there, but after visiting Winchester's campuss, she knew it was the school for her. Janet loves the urban feel of the whole school (just because it's in Vegas, but still) and is excited to be attending.
