Mason sat on her couch....slash bed as her mother got ready for work. Trying to ignore some of the shouting coming from outside. It all came with the package of living in one of the poorer sides of Las Vegas. She looked up from the book she was reading once in awhile, to smile down at the twins playing so nicely. Today they were quiet, but she knew that if you gave them enough time they'd get chatty. "Bye Kit."Micheal said as he walked towards the door, he stopped kissing his daughters cheek. "I'll see you later tonight. Love you." Mason smiled as she hugged her dad good bye. "OK Daddy have a good day." The twins started saying daddy as he left the house. Another word they knew well, on bad days where work couldn't be found Micheal would be home for long periods of time. Mason slid off the couch and laid down next to the twins, seeing they were distressed daddy was leaving."He'll be back" She said gently kissing each of their cheeks. "So you have a friend coming over to help?" Jennifer asked, as she walked out of the kitchen. Pulling on a large t-shirt to hide what she normally wore at work. "Yeah" Mason nodded. She didn't know whether or not to consider Tiffany a friend. But hey she offered to help, so she sent her the information. Jennifer nodded."I trust you."Jennifer said as she walked towards the bathroom to finish.

Today, Tiffany had agreed to meet up with Mason, the new 16 year old on campus apparently. Tiffany admired Mason for graduating early. She had heard of Mason's home situation and ever since then, Mason's family had been in her prayers, for the Bible says that you're supposed to give to the needy. Mason was in need of a babysitter, since she is always stuck at home with her twin siblings, Corey and Natalie.
When Tiffany arrived at Mason's house across town, her face turned down. Her house was awful..small. Tiffany's face flushed and she suddenly felt awkward. When Tiffany was growing up, she always looked forward to coming home to her spacious home, with tons of options to do, like, take a nap in her huge bed, or take a dip in the pool. Mason, however, had none of this. If anything, she wished she and Mason could switch lives.
Tiffany grabbed her duffel bag, which contained coloring books with stories of the Bible in it leftover from her recent mission trip, two boxes of crayons (64 pack WITH the sharpeners), diapers (which she bought on the way ), and some children's books (also left over from her mission trip). She knocked on the door. "Hey. It's Tiffany! Reporting for her first day of babysitting!" She shouted to the door, giggling a little to herself.

Jennifer walked to the door. Her hair done up,wearing some make up and her heels. She tried not to laugh as she opened the door, the girl was in all blue. "You must be Tiffany."she said, and Mason looked up and tried not to laugh too.
Mason shook her head and finished changing Corey's diaper letting her crawl around. "Tiff get in here before you get shoot."she said trying to be nice. Jennifer nodded. "Pro-tip."the 34-year-old woman said backing out the door. "Don't wear red or blue here, it's dangerous. Mason I love you sweetie." Mason waved good bye and looked at Tiff.
"So."Mason said as she got up. "I was thinking since it's hot out, we turn up the air, lounge around and just let the girls do whatever. The house is pretty childproof."she explained smiling.

Tiffany was beaming as the front door opened, and a woman who looked about into her 30's in the door way, wearing a large shirt and heels. She looked very amused for some reason. Tiffany's eyebrows crumpled together as Mason told her to get into the house, otherwise she'd be shot. Tiffany immediately walked quickly into the cramped living room of the Keller house hold. She was holding her bag in front of her, looking at the twin girls. They were so adorable!
When the woman spoke to Tiffany, she looked up at her, and then immediately down at her shirt, confused. Why couldn't she wear her favorite color to her house? A small frown came upon her face. She loved blue. And red. Tiffany was thinking back to when she drove here. She saw several African-American people who looked very intimidating. Tiffany's eyes widened as she realized the meaning of the woman's warnings. This neighborhood was filled with gangs.
Tiffany watched as Mason rose up to her feet suggesting what they could do the duration Tiffany was here. Tiffany smiled at Mason, and then at the twins. "That sounds like a lot of fun!" Tiffany shook the bag in front of her. I have some things for the twins... if that's okay." Tiffany set the bag down and knelt down with it, attracting one of the twin's attention. She opened the bag and pulled out the things she packed. "Just some things we could do with the twins. And, I bought some diapers for you guys.." Tiffany face reddened, feeling like she shouldn't have bought them. She looked up at Mason, afraid of what her reaction might be.

Mason watched as Corey crawled over, and grabbed a sheet of the coloring book and started to scribble. They didn't quiet get the point of coloring in the lines yet.
Mason picked up one of the books, deciding not to make a big deal out of it. She just wasn't sure on how her parents felt about religion being introduced into the house. Her mom had always said they'd let them decide when they were older. She watched as Corey colored and Natalie babbled to a doll. "Too cute."she said."and I've learned its best to let them do whatever what they want,no need for a schedule. unless its lunch time."
Then she mentitoned the diapers, and Mason tried not to get annoyed. Her parents could diaper and cloth the twins perfectly fine thanks to wal-mart. The girls just weren't wearing anything but their diapers because it was too hot. "Keep em."she said."we have plenty."

Tiffany smiled to one of the twins as she started coloring in a sheet of the coloring book. As Mason picked up the other coloring book, she looked skeptical of it. It was just Bible stories. It wasn't like these babies would know what it meant. Tiffany sat criss-cross on the floor, watching the two girls, getting comfortable. "That sounds like a plan, Mason" Tiffany sent Mason a big smile.
She bit her lip as Mason told Tiffany to keep the diapers. She knew she would get defensive about it. Tiffany thought buying diapers for them was pretty thoughtful. If she absolutely refused the diapers, she would stuff them in a nearby diaper bag. If they had one.. "Does it look like I'm pregnant? Or would have a baby? Really, keep them. You can never have too many diapers." She gave a side smile, biting the inside of her lip. Tiffany awkwardly turned back to the twins, who were talking to a doll. So. Cute.

Mason sat on the ground, her knees supporting her. She watched as the two played smiling to herself. Picking up the remote, she changed it to the Nickelodeon channel for some background noise. Natalie looked at Mason and smiled."Dolly."she said pointing at the doll. Mason nodded. "Yep that's Dolly the doll."she said gently.
Mason glanced over at Tiffany. Trying hard not to roll her eyes, they did not need the diapers they had enough of them. They weren't the brand they bought, so her dad would know someone gave it to them. Then he'd feel worthless, not able to diaper his kids. All her life Mason had been taught: do not just take hand outs we can buy ourselves. "We don't need them."she said calmly."There's a homeless home down the street, take them to a real charity case."

Tiffany grabbed the other coloring book and began flipping through the pages, looking at all the Bible stories in the pages. They were cute drawings of Noah and the Ark and also of Jesus helping people. Tiffany thought this would have been a really good coloring book to give to the daycare at her old church. She played with her shoelaces a bit, watching the twins play with Mason. She really loved the twins. She was such a down to earth girl. Tiffany had admired the younger girl for many things.
Mason looked annoyed when Tiffany kept pushing the fact that they should keep the diapers that Tiffany had bought them. Tiffany then let go of the diaper issue, accepting the advise Mason gave her about giving it to a shelter. Tiffany understood where Mason was coming from, but the least she could do was thank Tiffany for at least thinking of them. Tiffany's face flushed as she felt embarrassed at Mason's persistence. "Okay, Mason. I understand. I'll take them down the shelter when I leave. Tell me if you change your mind, though." Tiffany started to color in a page about Noah and the Ark, reading the description to herself, looking up at Mason and the twins frequently. As long as Tiffany dropped the diaper thing, this would go smoothly. Maybe the twins would come and play with Tiffany. After all, Tiffany was here to help Mason with anything she needed.

Mason lied down on her side, kind of watching the tv as she watched the girls play and color. This was nice and relaxing. The twins were having a calm day, maybe because dad didn't leave as early as normal when he did have work. So he was able to give them plenty of attention. She smoothed down Natalie's hair as she started to sing to the doll. Mason sang along softly in Nat's hair knowing the song.
"Ok I'll keep it in mind."she said smiling at her. She watched as Corey crawled over to try and help Tiffany color....that was cute. Mason smiled as she returned to Nat.

Tiffany let one of the twins color along with her. "So, um. Who's who?" She pointed to the twins, feeling confused. Tiffany pushed some of her hair behind her ear, watching the little girl color a giraffe purple. She laughed softly as she picked up a brown crayon coloring in the ark.
Tiffany knew that the twins were named Corey and Natalie, she just didn't know which one was which. They were both very distinct, so she wouldn't have a hard time telling them apart. Tiffany watched as the girl playing with her put the crayon in her mouth. She calmly pulled the crayon out and put it down on the floor, hoping she wouldn't put it in there again.

Mason looked up as Tiffany asked about differences in the twins. She had completely forgot to tell her, how to tell them. "We'll."she said smoothing down the little girl in-front of her hair. "This one is Natalie. She has dark brown hair, and is a little more shy than Corey." she said nodding over in the little girl who was drawing's direction.
"Corey has light blonde hair."she said. "But other than the blonde hair, as you ca tell they look a lot alike." Mason kissed Natalies cheek. "Hmm a snack would probably be a good idea soon..."she said seeing Corey try and eat a Crayon.
