Teddy didn't usually do dates, sure he took girls out for fun and spent the night with them. But he never really made an effort. Not like he had done tonight, booking a table for two at the Ritz, dressing his best and even - shock - combed his hair into so stylish do. He took a deep breath as he looked at his reflection, his eyes glazing over his white shirt and tie and down to his new shoes. Why was he so worried? It was just some chick...he did this all the time. No big deal, right? Ha, how wrong could he be?
Ivy Michaelson was one of the prettiest girls he had seen in Vegas so far, he smile lit up the staff room every time she entered. It was contagious and Teddy found himself smiling at the thought when he was alone in his room marking papers. She was beautiful...and British. Just the girl for him. But he knew he had competition from that Criminal Justice teacher, Daniel someone? Not a name Teddy even tried to remember. It wasn't worth it. But Ivy had taken a shine to Daniel and Teddy knew it may be a challenge getting her back.
He bit his lip and looked at the time, they were meeting at eight, and it was seven thirty now. Perfect timing. With once last glance in the mirror he turned and exited his room, feeling a faint blush on his cheeks as he walked. Oh he hoped she would show up. Nothing said 'loser' like a table for two with only one person in it.
Driving to the Ritz was no problem, he knew Vegas like the back of his hand by now and remembered every back street with ease. He smiled as he pulled up in front of the grand restaurant. If this didn't impress her, he didn't know what would. Biting his tongue he stepped out if his car and threw his keys to a guy in uniform who went to park the car.
Munroe, table for two? he asked the older man at the door.
Follow me, sir, your table is ready.
God he hoped she would come.

Ivy wasn't really sure how this "date" thing happened. Actually, she figured Teddy was just being, well, Teddy, when he asked her the first time. He was always flirting with her, but she sort of blew it off time and time again until one night he finally charmed her. Of course, she still was skeptical of the whole idea. Rumors were going around the school that said he was fratinizing with a distasteful student, something she had always frowned upon. Blowing that off too though, she agreed. She was a single woman, and she wasn't getting any older. Might as well start dating again. She had been told they were meeting at the ritz, which after doing a little research seemed to be pretty fancy. She smiled at the thought, thinking he was almost trying too hard, but the thought was what counted. This being known, she dressed in the appropriate attire of a nice dress and heels, nothing too fancy, but nothing too casual either. She hoped she hadn't overdressed. She had to admit, she was a little nervous. Teddy was probably the complete opposite of what she was starting to look for after the divorce. She needed someone steady, yet he was spontaneous...Of course, she liked that about him, but William was similar. ANd that scared her....a lot. Taking a deep sigh, she made her way out of her building and caught a taxi, telling him to step on it towards the ritz. all this thinking had made her a tad bit late. Poor Teddy, he was probably thinking she ditched him. A few minutes after eight, she was walking up the steps to the resturaunt, a small smile on her face as she asked the man at the front podium if Mr. Munroe had showed up. With a nod, he lead her to his table, and looking up, she gave Teddy a warm smile. Oh, he had actually gotten dressed up. THat was unexpected, even if it was a nice resturaunt. Sitting down, she gave him a once over and raised her eyebrows, opening her pink lips to speak. "Sorry I'm late. I...Traffic." she covered. She couldn't tell him that she couldn't find anything to wear and that she had thought about not coming for the sake of fear. Picking up the menu, and began scanning for a few moments, then back up to meet his eyes. "I have to say, you clean up very well. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were trying to impress me." she said with a wink. He really was adorable. Of course, she'd never let him know that. outfit

He was almost convinced she wouldn't show now. His heart had reached his stomach and he was positive she had done it to make a fool of him. He'd never been stood up by a girl before, no, not a girl, a woman. With a sigh he gave one last look to his watch and was about to get up when he spotted her across the room. He smiled, eyes lighting up slightly. She looked amazing. Getting to his feet as she approached he took her hand and kissed her knuckles, walking around and pulling out her chair for her to sit down.
Don't apologise, it's fine, I haven't been here long myself, he lied effortlessly as he sat himself down again and poured her a glass of red wine. He chuckled lightly at her comment, setting the bottle down between them as he lifted his glass and clinked it against hers. I could say the same for you, Ms Michaelson, that dress is exquisite. he said, smiling at her as he also picked up the Menu. There were no prices, you paid by person at the Ritz. Ninety-five dollars each. Prepaid of course, the wine was extra. But Teddy didn't mind, he had the money, so why not spend it?
Now you're not allowed to skip out on a course, I won't accept it, he teased as the waitress came over to their table and took their orders. Teddy had opted for a 'Terrine of Chicken' and the 'Braised Salmon' - something he always used to have back in England. And for Madame?
Teddy smirked, so the waitress thought they were married...this was already going well.

Looking through the menu, Ivy felt utterly overwhelmed. She wasn't one of those girls that hid their real hunger and only ate a little. No, she wasn't hiding that. She actually just wasn't one for large meals. Her mother had raised her on salads and things of that nature, and she had grown to like it that way. Eyeing Teddy as he ordered Salmon, she smiled and handed the menu to the waitress before requesting the salmon, but instead of the chicken, a salad. There was no way she was going to eat all that, but like he said, he wouldn't accept her skipping a course, and she wasn't about to test him.
Folding her hands lightly on the table before stealing another glance at Teddy across from her, she blushed at his comment. He liked her dress, thank goodness! Hopefully he couldn't see the red on her cheeks. She was supposed to keep her poker face intact. She knew Teddy's game. If he knew for one second he was charming her, he'd act like he had her wrapped around his finger. That was definitely not the case. "Thank you." she said with a smile.
Taking a sip of her wine after cheersing him, she was mid-sip win the waitress inferred they were married. Choking a little, but swallowing before the red liquid went everywhere, she raised a hand and sort of waved it before saying "O-Oh, you thought...Uh, we're not m-" however, the waiter had already walked off, leaving Ivy staring down at her lap hiding her embarassment once again. Looking up at him, she laughed a little. "I suppose you didn't feel the need to correct her, hm?" she said, smiling. This would certainly be an intersting night. Whatever did he have planned other than this nice dinner?

Teddy chuckled lightly before taking another sip of his wine. She shrugged at her comment and set down his glass with a grin, Why should I correct her? There's no harm done, he reasoned, leaning back in his chair and looking over the beautiful woman in front of him.
Leaning forward again he rested his elbows on the table and his chin in his hands. So why did you finally agree to come on this date with me? he asked, choosing the word 'date' carefully. He didn't want to scare her off but he wanted her to know what his intentions were. He was very forward, and he knew it. But that had never cause him too many issues before.
He waited for the first course to arrive, which it did - quickly. He smiled and picked up his fork, prodding his chicken slightly with a smile on his face, Ben apatite, he smiled, looking over the able at her as he began to carve his chicken. Would you like to try some? he asked, putting a little onto his fork and waving it over at her, chuckling slightly as other people turned to look at them. No one acted the way Teddy did, and he knew he was earning a lot of disapproving looks because of it.

Looking down for a moment as Teddy teased about the marriage misunderstanding, she began thinking about what she was to say to that. She didn't want to agree, for he'd never let her live that down, but she didn't want to disagree that there was no harm done because she knew there really wasn't. Shrugging instead, she made a mental note to not say anything to that, just to smile and pretend the comment hadn't made her go into deep thought.
But, then he did it again! He deliberately used the word date, and suddenly Ivy's head was swimming with different thoughts. Was it a date? She wasn't aware it was a date, but he thought it was. Looking over at him for a moment, she took note of his nice attire, the fancy resturaunt, the red wine. Oh God, it was a date. Biting her lip for a moment, she again began thinking of whether or not to play along or correct him. It wasn't like she minded. Sighing, she opened her mouth to speak, "Well...You make me laugh, and I don't know, I thought it would be fun. You only live once, right?" she said, please with her answer. Then, she decided to make him uncomfortable. "And since when have you been one to take girls on dates, Mr. Munroe?" she said, raising an eyebrow at him. Thatll get his mind reeling.
As their first meal came, hers being a salad, she immediately began eating. For some reason, she felt it'd fill the odd silence. That is, until Teddy did the oddest thing of them all. Looking over at him, she couldn't help but laugh. Leaning over, she whispered. "Ted, what in the world are you doing! People are staring!" Looking around for a moment at the disgusted expressions, she laughed again before turning back to look at him. "Ah, what the hell." she said before taking a bite of the chicken from the fork being waved in her face. Her face turning bright red, she finished chewing before shyly pointing at her salad, as if asking him if he wanted some as well. "They're going to think we're barbarians!" she said followed by a giggle.
