Annie couldn't believe it. She just /couldn't/ believe it. One moment, she assumed everything's fine...that her dad, though not in jail, was supposed to stay far far away from her and her family and that her mom didn't want him back. She thought she'd be able to possibly get her life going in a good direction before ever having to worry about saying one word to the guy again....
That was, until the few texts she'd received from Jr. Now she was terrified.
She decided, though, that she didn't want to worry about what was going on in the real world at the moment. She knew if she focused on it too long....if she worried too much....she'd probably have some kind of nervous breakdown. She wasn't willing enough quite yet to show too much negative emotions around people. It just wasn't her style...and always felt so awkward.
So here Annie was, heading to someone's dorm that she didn't even know too well because she thought taking drugs would solve her problems temporarily. It wasn't too far away from what she'd thought in the past...she'd just never thought to actually do them before. This was a desperate time, though, and this seemed to be the only way out.
Annie struggled to keep somewhat calm as she chatted on her phone (it was a miracle the thing worked. The first time she saw the news that her parents were friends again, she had thrown it against the wall), also trying to keep focus on where she was going. Part of her was trying to make her just turn back....but she needed the company. Her house had been lonely all day and it had only lead to bad.
She let out a slight sigh as she finally found Simon's door and knocked, not wanting to be rude by just walking in. She knew he'd said the door was always unlocked, but she always hated just going into someone's house uninvited.
Hopefully, this would make everything go away.
