Simon rarely meets someone that he would consider a true friend. Usually, he's only ever out to make good impressions. Most of the people you'll see him hanging around he probably truly can't stand. It's hard to tell, though, whether or not Simon actually likes you or not.
The few people he actually likes and enjoys being around will always have him there to back them up. He may not be the most loyal person, but if he really wants to keep you around, he wouldn't ever betray you. That being said, you'd have to be a pretty special and unique person to achieve this status with him. He's very picky about the people he lets in.
Despite the fact you'll see him in large crowds a lot, he probably actually only even likes two or three of the people he's with. The others are the ones he's just putting on an act for.

He won't show the fact that he has them, but Simon actually acquires enemies practically daily. Most people can't see how fake he's being, but the ones who catch on lose him fairly quickly. If he realizes you're not buying the act, he'll drop it. Once that happens, you'll probably like him even less. It isn't the best idea to get on Simon's bad side.
He tends to be the vengeful type when it comes to being betrayed or messed with. He's not particularly violent at all, but he knows how to ruin your social life- at least that's what he'll threaten. He can be rather reckless about getting people back, and sometimes it hurts him more than it did the person he was after.
It's just a better idea to stay far from Simon if you don't think you'll like him- or at least pretend to.

He's more about the physical stuff, mostly because he knows that side of the deal better and can handle himself pretty well when it comes to sex.
The truth is, he's never let himself close enough to anybody to really be able to fall in love. It intrigues him, sure. It scares him a whole lot more, though. He's seen what love does to people, and he doesn't want to end up like that.
He just needs to find the person who can make him forget about caring what others think.
