No one had really sparked her curiosity since Ryan and Jimmy on the chat. Not until a strange boy came in the chat briefly to talk to that one kid Mitchie, the one Ryan was always talking to/about. She'd seen him around before and always wanted to talk to him, but he really kept to himself and she never got the chance to. It actually came as a shock to her when he had invited her to his dorm before conveniently leaving as she was going to ask what his number was. Thankfully the boys dorms were like a mini social circle at times, only times when she wasn't a topic of conversation, and another one knew what room he was in. A nice big, spacious dorm to himself? Shaking her head, she couldn't allow herself to think like that. She'd been getting out of control with this and was almost losing herself because of it.
She hated walking down this hallway, it always meant bad things for her. Just as it would seem like a good thing was on the horizon, bam. Reality would face in and it'd be gone. She found herself glancing over at Ryan's door wondering if he was there. Not like it'd make a difference. He hated her right now, and she still didn't know why. Letting out a sigh, she kept walking. Closer and closer she crept to the end of the hall where the single dorms were.
With each step, she was regretting this decision more and more. Doubting herself and whether he really seemed like he'd wanted her to come over or not. It was strange, she was never usually like this. The always confident, never second guessing side of her was fading and fast which wasn't good, considering the miserable homeless girl who had nothing and no one would slowly start revealing herself if that happened. Reassuring herself, she stood up straight and walked with her head held somewhat high, quickening her pace over to Benji's dorm. "No going back now," she whispered to herself as she knocked on the door, waiting for him to answer.
When he did, she looked up and smiled at him, "hey it's Vikki from that chat thing, you said I could stop by if I wanted to grab a coffee?" Raising an eyebrow, she hoped she hadn't freaked him out as she waited for him to respond.

Benji had been laying on his bed, shirtless, nose pressed against his Gameboy trying to defeat the elite four in Pokemon blue...again. He breathed out, pressing the A button repeatedly until his Blastoise had finally blasted the competition away. Save Game? Yes.
He groaned throwing his Gameboy to one side. Shuffling over to his desk he switched on the internet, discovering Mitchie in the chat. He smiled softly to himself, as he began talking to him. But it quickly became apparent that Mitchie was far too preocupied with someone else. Biting his tongue, Benji decided it would be better if he just left, until someone else started talking to him. Vikki. Did he know her? Strangers didn't really talk to him anymore, he was too quiet to really draw any attention to himself. Still, any friends were better than no friends, that was for sure. So out of the blue and in a random bout of confidence he invited her over for coffee, but was so shocked by his own actions the he promptly logged out of the chat.
Maybe he should go and tell her his room?
She would find it, he was sure of that, she was smart. Or at least she seemed it. He sighed and decided to take a quick shower, he didn't want to look a complete mess when, or if, she showed up. He was almost completely dry when he heard a knock at the door. Oh god, he frowned, deciding that he would open the door a little, invite her in and then quickly dart into his ensuite. In fact, pulling on his boxers, maybe she wouldn't care.
Walking over to the door he opened it a little, Hey Vikki, he said, poking his head around the door. Sorry, I've just come out of the shower, I'll be two seconds. Make yourself at home, he added, opening the door and grabbing a pair of grey short and vanishing into his bathroom.
He emerged two seconds later dressed from the waist down, reaching around the new arrival to grab his shirt. Do you want to go out? Or we can get something delivered? he asked, not really bothered either way, he had the money to waste.

When the door opened slightly, Victoria couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as the man appeared in just in boxers and felt her cheeks flush a little. He was covered in tattoos. So sexy, but she ignored it. Hearing that he had just gotten out of the shower, she immediately responded, "Oh I'm sorry, if I had known.. I could just come back if you want?"
Shrugging as he offered for her to make herself at home, she walked in and did so, taking a quick glance around the room before spying from the corner of her eye a gameboy. "Oh my god!" she exclaimed excitedly as she walked over to it, feeling her go back into her past. It hurt a little to think of it, her brother had taught her how to use the gameboy and helped her defeat the gym leaders in the Red version. Instead she looked over it, unsure if he'd get upset that she was touching his stuff. Hearing the door open, she immediately put it back.
When he reached around her, she took another quick peek at the tattoos before he slipped his shirt on. Boo... she thought to herself and fought back a giggle. She was really asking for trouble, especially if her boyfriend found out.
"It really doesn't matter to me," she answered with a shrug. Either way, she wasn't at the store so she was fine. But she couldn't say that out loud. "Some fresh air might do me some good, if you don't mind, though.. Perhaps we'll go pick whatever up and bring it back here?" she suggested. Because as much as she liked fresh air, sometimes too much wasn't a good idea. Who knows who they'd run into and she didn't want to give him the wrong impression.

Benji smiled and grabbed his wallet from the side of his desk, slipping it into his pocket. Fresh air is good in my books. I'm up for Starbucks if you are? he said with a genuine smile as he grabbed her hand and lead her out of his dorm, making sure he locked the door behind him. He had already had one laptop stolen from his room - probably Abraham or Freude - he didn't want to fork out for another.
He looked back at the girl and offered his hand for her to take. It had been a long time since he had been out with a friend. He hoped it wouldn't end in disaster. He had been prone to attract trouble as of late. He wasn't sure why. He bit his tongue slightly as he walked through the boys corridors, a lot of them giving him funny looks. Mostly because it was a rare occasions to see Benji out of his room.
He wasn't the same boy he used to be.
So, any reason you decided to venture a visit? Or was it just because of the tattoos? he said with a slight chuckle.

It took Victoria by surprise when Benji took her hand and started leading her out of the room, but figured it was just how he was and decided to welcome it. It had been a while since she'd held hands with anyone, so it wouldn't hurt to do it. "Starbucks sounds fantastic," she agreed and immediately began thinking about the possibilities of what to get. That was until they had started walking down the boys' dorm hall.
The guys were all staring. Not just at her, but at him also. Feeling a twinge of guilt, she wanted to yell at them all and tell them it wasn't like that. But as they held hands, it sure looked like it. Not wanting to hurt his feelings though, she just glared at everyone that had looked. Especially the ones who had known her. Benji seemed surprisingly unphased by it. That was good, it was something he'd have to get used to if he was going to be her friend. It was unfair, she frowned at the thought. She couldn't have had a normal life here but no, she decided to go and fuck it up.
Benji had immediately distracted her from her thoughts, and thank god. She really needed to stop with this pity party crap. It was getting old fast. Thankfully no one else had to suffer from it, instead it stayed trapped inside her mind. Without thinking, she simply responded, "I needed to get out, hang out with someone who didn't exactly.. know me." Immediately putting her foot in her mouth, she hoped he wouldn't catch what she had said.
"What about you? Why invite a total stranger to coffee out of the blue like that?" she asked, hoping to distract him from what she said so he'd forget about it. "Or was it just because of my good looks?" she joked, letting out a half-assed laugh as she did.

He chuckled lightly at her reply to his question - oh, so that's how it was. He didn't especially mind, he had the same feelings. He was almost, lost. He didn't know where he really stood with anyone anymore. It would just be nice to find someone new, to start a new page and on the same level with no expectations of each other. But he couldn't say that, in his opinion, without sounding very rude. So instead he settled for the easy answer, I just really fancied a coffee with someone - thought I won't deny the good looks are a bonus, he said, nudging her slightly to show he was only teasing.
So, do I get to know you? Or is this 'relationship' entirely peripheral? he asked, smiling at her, trying to get her to relax.
As they exited the boy's dorms, Benji took a short-cut the the Quad and then the Allotments. He had always taken it, but had been surprised to learn hardly anyone knew about it. It lead almost directly to Starbucks, instead of taking the long walk around campus. He opened the door tot he coffee shop for her and stepped inside the warmth. My treat, he insisted pulling out his wallet, ready to order.

Based on Benji's tone, Vikki could automatically tell he was joking at the attraction comment. Finally, a guy who doesn't just want to have sex with me. Thank god, she thought to herself and let out a soft laugh. It almost sounded like a giggle, but considering it was both towards the thoughts in her head and what Benji had said, she figured it seemed fitting no matter how odd it was in her head.
Nonchalantly making a face as he asked the next question, she thought to herself, no, you don't want to know me. Pushing the negativity out of her head, she instead replied, "I don't know.. Depends on what you'd like to know about me," with a slightly mysterious smirk. Today wasn't a day for a pity party. Today was a day to escape reality with a possible new friend. And unlike the last male "friend" she had acquired, she didn't have any ulterior motives. She also didn't plan on letting this one go any time soon. It sucked feeling alone in Vegas, and finally she was starting to feel like she belonged again.
They had gotten to the Starbucks faster than she normally did, the way he took them must have been a short cut. She took a mental note of the way they went and smiled, being pleasantly surprised when Benji opened the door to her and smiled with a nod. "Thank you, sir," she said as she stepped in and took a look around. The usual setting of Starbucks was always so welcoming and comforting. Almost like... home.
Shaking her head, she turned to look at Benji and smiled again. "You don't have to do that," she said in response as they stood in the line to wait. Of course if he insisted she wouldn't fight, but when people bought her stuff she hated feeling the need to give them something in return. He seems like he's just fine with the company though Vikki, she cursed herself mentally, get over yourself.
ooc. SORRY. I'm like all over the place in this post. This is why I've been on a hiatus @.@ my writing has gone downhill.

I know I don't have to, but I would like to, he said, smiling at her softly. This seemed...nice, natural. Neither of them pushing for something that wasn't ready to happen. Ordering their drinks he waited to collect them before making his way over to the widow seat, the warm leather welcoming against his bare shoulders. He sipped his drink for a moment, slipping off his shoes and pulling his knees up on the seat as well - ignoring the glares from one of the staff members.
What I'd like to know about you? Well...what are you studying? That seems a good start - right? he said with a half smile over the lip of his coffee cup. He hadn't seen her around much, so he was sure that she didn't take any of his classes - but that only ruled out two. He hadn't seen her in the theatre class with Percy, but then he hadn't really been looking for anyone else.
Tucking his feet under his thin frame he placed his cup down on the table, Maybe we could just ask each other really impersonal questions until the coffee goes cold, he smirked, I'm kidding, personal ones are a lot better, besides I'm a complete stranger with no friends, I'm not likely to reveal any secrets.
He looked up at her, eyes darting to the man behind the counter who had served them the coffee - Fuck, Marry or Avoid? he said, pointing to the man for her to see.

As they took their seat by the window, she held the drink in her hands and watched him. His body was shuffling about in the seat and raised a curious eyebrow at him until she realized that he was actually bringing his legs up into the chair. Shrugging it off, she didn't blame him for making himself comfortable. She almost would have also, but that wasn't the kind of person she was. She liked how carefree Benji had been since the moment they met, but something was haunting him it seemed. Not necessarily haunting him, but she could tell he hadn't always been this way.
"I'm majoring in fashion," she answered simply as she took a sip of her coffee. "Being raised in New York, the life of the fashion industry is all around you, and I've always been fascinated with it," she continued to ramble on as she looked down at the lid of her coffee. "What about you? I've never seen you around before until today. Then again, I'm only on campus when I have to be, seeing as I live off campus," in the attic of my work she mentally added.
Letting out a soft giggle as he joked about asking impersonal questions, she shook her head and said, "I agree, although I cannot see how you do not have any friends." With a friendly smile she added, "you seem very sweet."
The next question threw her off guard, and she couldn't help but laugh a little louder at it. This could be interesting, especially since when she looked up she saw a business man who she had seen regularly attending the several casinos downtown, picking up beautiful blondes and bringing them back to his cave. He was attractive enough to get away with it, though, so she answered. "I'd either fuck or avoid, he definitely doesn't seem like marriage material," looking back at him, she was curious if he liked men also considering a lot of the male population at Winchester was at least bisexual, she simply asked, "what about you? Fuck, marry, or avoid?"

Ah Fashion, then you have met dear Mister Moore? I bet he's told you wonderful stories about everyone here... he said, with an almost cynical manor. Not that he cared for the stories Dorian may or may not have told about him - or anyone for that matter. He raised an eyebrow at her, his own subjects not nearly as interesting. I'm studying Music tech and Law - but Law's the one I'm focusing on, or trying to anyway. My father was a lawyer, he always had enough money to do whatever he wanted, so it seemed like a - er - good idea to follow in his footsteps. The music thing is just for fun, he said waving his hand flippantly and taking another sip of coffee.
It wasn't really just for fun, it had been a career Benji had seriously been considering. But then, everything changed, Benji decided that music was just a hobby. Not a career.
He looked up and smiled softly when she said he was sweet, but didn't say anything in return. Not because he didn't think she was sweet - he already though she was. But compliments and him didn't go too well. He didn't want to get into a discussion like that, not with her anyway - it seemed pointless.
Benji laughed at her response, half choking on a sip of coffee. He hadn't actually believed that she would answer. He looked over to the guy once more, blinking for a moment, trying to asses him. But Benji couldn't really decided what he wanted - so he shrugged his shoulders. Probably avoid - I'm not marriage material and fucking people just complicates everything. he said, not realising that he might have been revealing more about his inner turmoil that he really wanted.

At the mention of 'Mister Moore,' who Victoria had assumed was Dorian, she nodded and just responded with a simple, "I have met him but we don't talk much." It was true, they weren't friends but they weren't enemies. He'd helped her out on occasion and she would do the same if he ever admitted he'd needed help. He seemed like a nice guy but he also seemed like a diva. That and the company he kept in class were enough for her to know to stay away.
Victoria couldn't help but frown when Benji explained his major in law. She couldn't see him wasting his life away in some court room. Sure, the money would be good, but he wouldn't be enjoying his life. She may not have known him that well, or at all, but she shook her head and said, "well look back and think about it, was your father happy with what he was doing?" She narrowed her eyes some and leaned back into her chair shrugging, "pardon me if I seem intrusive, but I personally believe in quality over quantity. Sure, I might not make much being a fashion designer. Hell, I might not make anything... But at least I'll be wasting my time doing something I love."
They sat in silence for a few moments and it was broken by Benji's laughter. Poor guy almost choked on his coffee at her answer. Feeling her cheeks flush, she laughed and nonchalantly hid her face with her hand. Also looking back at the guy as Benji did, she quickly turned her gaze back to him as he analyzed the guy. Simply nodding in response, she wanted to ask why he thought he wasn't marriage material but also didn't want to pry. Instead she looked at the baristas behind the counter.
"I wasn't going to say anything, but the cashier was totally into you, even glared at me when he realized we were together," realizing how bad that sounded, she laughed and attempted to correct herself, "you know, ordering together."

Benji bit his tongue, not really wanting to think about his father. But maybe it was about time he did; get it out into the open and clear it all from his mind. He looked over to Vikki, debating with himself over whether he should tell her. I don't think my father was ever...happy. But he had everything he never needed and wanted. He was never short of anything and had complete control over most of the people around him. His life just seemed...easy. he said, smiling softly at her. He nodded; understanding her passion and love for a subject. But if he was going to secretly pay Percy's way in life then he had to have a good source of income. But she didn't need to know that.
Looking past her and over to the cashier he shook his head, trying not to smile. Don't be silly; he was probably looking at you, he said, looking back at the cashier before looking away again when they made eye contact. She was being silly, no one had 'checked him out' in years. Or if they had he hadn't noticed. He wasn't interested in those kinds of things anymore.
Maybe he should be, it could take his mind off Percy. Maybe he would find someone else to be with, someone else to fall in love with. But he didn't want to. He didn't want anyone else.
He leant back in his chair and wrapped his arms around his knees, Besides, I make a terrible boyfriend, he added with a smile, taking another few sips of his coffee.
