It was at High School where Fanta made friends with Tavo, another boy who lived in his neighbourhood. They became good friends, and Fanta was the first to find out that his best friend liked boys. Fanta already knew Tavo had two fathers, so the concept wasn't as alien as most people thought. Fanta was surprised to find that some people weren't as accommodating and was subject to taunting and bullying from the other kids. But he stuck by Tavo - having developed a crush on the boy. But he never said anything, especially when Tavo started secretly dating some jock. Fanta had never liked Andrew, but he made allowances because Tavo was 'in love'. But being in love had made him stupid, and Fanta decided that he was never going to fall in love and let people walk all over him, the way Tavo had done. When Tavo and his family moved to Vegas, Fanta went with them. Leaving his family behind. He'd always wanted to travel, what better way to start that with his best friend? Fanta's crush on Tavo faded over time, but they have always remained close friends - even though not everyone approves of Fanta's new outlandish and rude personality, he still has his best friend to fall back on.
