the rules
[/color]registration
first things first, you need to change your registration name in your profile, with your character's name. first, middle, and last in CAPITAL LETTERS. registration names can be whatever you like, as long as you change it later. i know that the admins are fully capable of fixing it, but why would you make us do it, when you are fully capable of doing it yourself. neither party needs to spare themselves the trouble. so please, get it right in the first time.
like all other sites, VEGAS SKIES also has a character application. everyone is required to fill up the application to its completion and then in turn will have to be sorted into their member group before they are allowed to role play. secondly, while you are submitting your character application, be sure to go make a reservation or claim the celebrity you will be using for your character. do not let anyone beat you to it. after you’ve completed those two crucial steps, you have completed the registering process.
writing
we are all literate here, meaning that we want at least a few paragraphs on each of your posts. we are not that picky with word count, but if someone writes you a one thousand word post and you reply with a misspelled single paragraph—well, that is not acceptable at all. and just a bit of advice from us, when you start a thread for someone—make it about three hundred to five hundred words, so that isn’t too long or too short. it gives other people an idea of where the thread is going and something worth replying to.
characters
we are not going to dictate who or how your character should be, but please be reminded that no one is perfect. please try avoiding making your character a mary sue. try to make them as realistic as possible—and if it helps, add a bit of “you” into them—who knows, maybe they might be the next best thing?
UPDATE:
Due to people making new characters, keeping them for a week and then deleting them, we have decided to make a few changes. From now on you must have all of your current characters at 50 posts or more (non-game) before making a new character. You'll then have to get that one to 30 before making another. Apologies to those who like making new character, but it just disrupts the story if you randomly delete them.
activity
we recommend everyone to stay active. PLEASE! i know we all have our everyday lives and minimal problems that sometimes get in the way, but please keep your role play going. if you are going to be gone for more than three or four days, please post in the “absence” thread and you will be excused. if you need to take a long leave; remember that your play-by will be up for grabs. and if you are in leave for more than a week without an away note—you will be in jeopardy of losing your play-by. so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, stay active.
graphics
we will not allow nudity or 'sensitive' material in avatars or signatures. Avatars may be 150x200 maximum, and signatures may be a maximum of 500px in width, but the height is limitless - but don't go overboard!
most significantly
have fun role playing. we encourage our members to go through with the craziest of plots. us staff members are pretty nifty at rping; and most of all, the admins in this site aren't egotistical monsters waiting to get you. lol. maybe we are... lol! but do try and get to know us, we aren't as bad as we seem, no matter how villainous our characters may be.
xoxo, the admins
