From just looking at Tico, you think you'd know the type of people he hangs out with. And you're right, partly. Tico's friendly with just about everyone, though. He's really chill about making new acquaintances. He really doesn't care what other people say about you. If you're nice to Tico, he's game.
He usually hangs around the potheads, just because he's always lighting up any time he can. He's not one of those people who thinks you're a waste of time if you don't smoke, though. He's just been around marijuana for so long, that it's a regular part of his life. As long as you respect his choice, he'll respect yours. He doesn't appreciate nagging. He's not going to stop the habit.
He's willing to make other changes, though, for people he's close too. Tico's got a loyal-streak a mile wide, and if you put your trust in him, he's going to carry that to the grave.

Being as laid back as he is, he doesn't make many of these very often. If you hit a certain nerve with him, though, not even his high will hold him back. Tico's from a neighborhood where if you look at a person the wrong way, you get laid out.
Now, he doesn't hold that belief as strongly. He doesn't give a fuck how you look at him. If you start talking shit about his family, or about his sexuality (which you shouldn't even know about), that's when the line's been crossed and you should probably run for your life.
When his brother Reggie was alive, he used to say, "never let nobody tell you who you are" and Tico doesn't. So, don't tell him who he is. He knows he's a pothead, he knows he's a slacker. He doesn't need you to tell him that. So, if you keep your mouth shut about the way he wants to live his life, you'll be good with him.

The last "lover" Tico had was a girlfriend. The whole girlfriend thing didn't really work for him, though. The only reason he even tried to get with the girl was because his friends were ragging on him saying "Yo, Tico man, the ladies love you. Why ain't you gettin' with none?"
That's because Tico's gay. He doesn't know when he realized it, or why, but that's the way it is. He only just mustered up the nerve to tell his parents months ago. No one else knows, and he never makes any attraction to guys obvious.
