Who needs best friends, when you have a roomie?

Today was the day to meet the new roomie. Anna had finally got all her stuff moved in. Leather couch, new tv that her parents had gotten her...her bed, clothes. Thankfully, her parents had left - and were definitely not the kind to stick around and cry over their daughter going to college. Yeah, they didn't really care.

After putting the last of her clothes away in the closet, the blond plopped down on the leather couch. She was fairly nervous about meeting her roommate. Was she gonna be nice? Mean? A slut? Was she gonna have to request a new roommate? Heck, she didn't know. She just hoped she wasn't stuck with some freak.

Turning on her xbox and the tv, she turned on Split/Second, and watched as it started up. Really, she had butterflies in her stomach and felt sick. She didn't handle change well. Or rejection. With a sigh, she pulled her knees up to her chest and rested her chin on knees, staring blankly at the demo playing on the tv.

"I can't handle this." She muttered to herself, closing her eyes. Realising she should've chosen to live alone.....

Today had been a long day for the little Ana as she struggled up the stairs in her high heels while carrying a few bags from Victoria's Secret, Forever 21, Tilly's, and even though she didn't really like shopping there Hollister had great perfumes. In the same hand carrying the bags she also had her phone as she responded to a text from an old friend back in San Francisco who she had just recently got in touch with while in the opposite hand she held a tall passion tea lemonade from Starbucks. Poor girl was definitely multi-talented, but one of her talents was not multi-tasking. Several times her heels barely made the step and occasionally would almost send her backward and her red pony tail would whip around violently as she'd scream before regaining her balance. Next time she really needed to remember to take the elevator even if she's only on the second floor.

Reaching the second floor, she almost stopped to kiss the ground but the bags were crippling her. Putting her phone back into her purse after she responded, she began fumbling around inside of it, listening for the jingle of her keys before finally grasping onto them. She was in a near sprint as she got closer to the door, the bags were getting heavier by the second as she unlocked the door and ran in throwing her bags on the bed with a loud sigh. After standing there for a second, she felt something was different. Turning to look at the opposite side of the room, she jumped back some to see a girl sitting in front of the tv with a video game controller in her hand. Placing her hand on her chest, she let out a laugh.
"Goodness, you scared me. I didn't get word that you were coming," she said with a laugh again and shook her head. Taking a step closer she extended her hand with a wide friendly smile, "nice to meet you, I'm Anastasia but everyone calls me Ana."

After they shook hands, she threw her arms up eccentrically and exclaimed with excitement, "yay, welcome to room 206 roomie!" Letting out an innocent giggle after she did so, she realized how foolish she looked.

Hearing the lock on the door click, she turned the tv on mute, and stared as bags flew onto the other bed. Eyebrow raised, she unfolded from her position and stood, watching the red-headed girl. "Oh," She replied simply. "nice to meet you, too. I'm Annabel....and usually get called Ana, too!" With a grin, she took her new roommates hand and shook.

After letting go, she giggled, too. "Yayyyy!" Ana exclaimed, throwing her hands up just as Anastasia did. After realising Ana (number one, the roomie) was pretty awesome, the butterflies in her stomach disappeared. The other girl seemed like someone who was gonna become her best friend, very quickly. And Annabel was so very thankful for that.

Glancing back over to Anastasia's bed that was now full of bags, she smiled. "Man, wish I would've met you sooner. I need to go shopping, too!" With a pout, she moved so she was sitting down on her own bed, looking to her roomie. "Oh well. So uhmm. What all is there to do around here?" Ana asked Ana, a curious smile on her face.

Today seemed like a beach kind of day. But she figured the beach was at least four hours away. More than just a day trip..

"Oh yay! Another Ana," Ana had replied to her sounding sincerely excited, she was practically bouncing with excitement as she spoke. This year was going to be a major improvement from last year's situation. As she recalled the events last year, she also told Anna, "this year is going to be so much better than last year, I can already tell," with a wide smile.

Looking over at the bags, then back to Anna she frowned with her eyebrows furrowed, "oh, I'm sorry.. I wish I had known you were coming today. I would have waited for you!" She then went over and started taking out the clothes from the several bags and began hanging them up or folding them and putting them in their appropriate places. Humming quietly until she heard Anna ask something then turned around and looked at her smiling. "There's a lot to do here, you'd be surprised. Even if you're not 21 yet. Well, I don't know if you aren't, but I'm not so.. Yeah, there's still a lot to do. I personally like shopping and swimming in the resort pools. But it all depends, what exactly do you like to do for fun?" This is great, she thought to herself, not only did she get to help her new roomie, but she got to get to know more about her too.

"Awww, what happened last year?" Anna asked. She knew high school sure sucked for her, so maybe Ana was talking about that. "No worries though, I don't mind. I'm sure there are more days we can shop...I do need new bathing suits and stuff though. Maybe soon!" Anna exclaimed, watching Ana put away her stuff. Wow. Lots.

Listening to her explain, she nodded, "Huh...that's shocking. Exciting though, 'cause no, I'm not 21...unfortunately!" The day she could legally drink was going to be a fabulous day. Talk about major hangovers the next day. Not that she would mind.... partying was her thing, really.

"Basically what you said. Swimming....shopping. Road trips are good! Video games, too. Lots of video games. I was the biggest nerd in high school!" Anna giggled, laying back on her bed and staring up at the ceiling. "Are there any good boys around here? I know back home they were all ....bad."

Ana smiled over at her Annabel with excitement again as she finished putting all of the clothes away. She then sat on her bed and crossed her legs indian style and placed her hands on her thighs, a loud clapping sound as the result.

"Well, I'm not one to judge, I just need to make that clear," she said as she put one finger up before continuing, "but that girl got around. I swear, I don't mind it every once in a while, but she had a guy in here every night. I swore every night I was going to strangle her in her sleep if I had to hear her moan one more time." Shivering as she remembered, she then looked up at her new roommate in shock and slight horror as she covered her mouth with a gasp. "I'm sorry! I hope I didn't offend you at all," she said as she dropped her hands and furrowed her eyebrows. Annabel didn't look like a slut, but you never know sometimes, and if she wasn't, she'd definitely be insulted now.

Sighing, she shook her head and ran her fingers through her hair with an awkward smile "Sorry, I get a bit carried away when I'm excited. Don't mind me," she said with a nervous laugh.

"If you need anything, you can always borrow from me. Just don't get my stuff dirty, okay? I have plenty of clothes to spare, though," she said with a warmer smile, hoping Annabel didn't hate her already.

Anna's eyes widened. That had to have sucked epically. "No, no. You didn't offend me. I don't think I'd bring a guy here to have sex with if my roomie was here. That's kinda freaky to me." Shrugging nonchalantly, Anna yawned sleepily. Sleep did sound pretty good right now.

Sitting back up, she giggled. "Awe, thanks! I'll let you know if I ever need to borrow anything. I do love shopping, so I may just have to go do that. See if I can find any cool shops that aren't a-typical." Falling quiet for a moment, she looked back up and smiled. "What's the best place to eat around here? I'm big on food."

Ana being excited was just fine, Anna got just as excited. For some reason, she knew this year was going to be much, much better than she would've expected. A awesome roommate...finally in college..living on her own. Meeting new people. Sounded good to her. "Oh yeah, is there anyone to watch out for? I guess everywhere has it's bad people.."

Hearing Anna yawn, she yawned also before playfully glaring over at Anna, "shut up, that's contagious" she said with a playful laugh before laying down across her bed, her red hair laying askew across her pillow as she looked up at the plain white ceiling. "I wish we could paint our room, the white is so dull," she said mostly to herself, but knew that it could be directed at Anna too.

Smiling as she listed to her roomie talk about shopping, she rolled onto her side and propped up her head on her hand to look over at her while she talked. "Well, in Vegas there are a lot of verrry unique stores for even the strangest of your desires," she said with yet another laugh. God, she was sounding like a tour guide. "As for places to eat, it's basically all fast food which I'm personally not that big of a fan of.." she said trailing off, looking up out the window in thought before looking back to her roommate, "but the strip definitely has the best food compared to everywhere else in town. If I do actually go out to eat, and I'm not on a date, my first choice will be there."

Sighing heavily, she began to think of all of the drama that circulated around this college. It was like high school all over again. Rolling her eyes before raising her eyebrows, she replied to her roommate the only way she could. "Honestly.. Everyone you talk to is going to have drama here, but thankfully I'm friends with basically everyone on campus that talks to me. I never have drama, I just hear about it." Shrugging, she smiled again and said, "but from what I've seen of you so far, you're totally going to fit in here. Everyone will like you."
