VICTOR DISLIKES :
- bullies: yeah, victor had a tough time in high school. he was pushed around a little bit, he's had his fair share of bullies and rough teenage humiliation. he's a nerdy, spoiled gay boy with big glasses, mickey mouse sweaters and a 4.5 GPA average - he was bound to get picked on.
- gay jokes. again, there's a history. he just doesn't find them very funny.
- politics: for one thing, he doesn't know jack about politics, and he gets uncomfortable when people try talking to him about things he doesn't understand. it doesn't help that most everyone assumes he has the same views as his parents (who are both loudly outspoken and well connected right extremists).
- being denied instant gratification: victor's spoiled. he's a brat, and he's used to getting whatever he wants from his parents, very shortly after he lets them know he wants it. he's like a little kid when it comes to not being given what he wants, and he is not about pouting hard core when he has to wait for his gratifying experience.
- competition: victor gets very flustered when he feels like he's being challenged or tested or when he's around people who are very competitive. he doesn't like to lose, and he doesn't like the pressure of trying to beat someone else at something. it's just not his jam. he much prefers team work.
- feeling worthless: victor has a hard time with this; his parents were never very attentive and are away on business 75% of the time, and he's always been picked on in school, so sometimes he slips into deep wells of self-pity and self-loathing. it's one of the reasons he's so defensive when people tease him; to convince them, and to convince himself that he's worth a damn.
- rodents: he had an awful experience with a hamster as a child.
- scary movies.
VICTOR LIKES :
- school: he's good at, and he enjoys working through the research process. he also likes the satisfaction of success.
- video games: always.
- strategy/math/science.
- getting his way.
- STAR WARS. obviously.
- riding his bike: it's his number one mode of transportation, he rides it everywhere. it's a hot ride.
- trying new things: victor has realized to some degree that he's pretty sheltered, and so he's always trying to get out into the world and try new things. if he hasn't done it before, regardless of how badly it might go, he can probably talked in to doing it, especially if it'll make him feel cool. he loves feeling cool.
- trampolines. what's not to love?
GOALS :
- to figure out a major before the year is over, hopefully.
- to become rich and successful to make his parents acknowledge him.
- to have the perfect relationship.
- gotta learn to moonwalk.
- make all the friends in the WORLD.
FEARS :
- that he's just doomed to be a loser forever.
- worthlessness.
- that he'll somehow end up like his parents.
SECRETS :
- he. loves. boybands. backstreet boys, nsync, he know them all, he knows all the dance moves, all the lyrics. it's a guilty pleasure. he has told no one.
- that no one will love him. he's a little frantic about that issue, really.
WEAKNESS :
- people who will geek out with him. talk about star wars with him and he's yours.
- he's naive. he's really, really naive, and it's not difficult to take advantage of it.
STRENGTHS :
- academics. he's sort of a genius.
- looking on the bright side of things.
OVERALL PERSONALITY :
- spoiled: victor was born with a silver diamond encrusted spoon in his mouth, and although he hasn't had the most enviable of childhoods, considering the perpetual absence of his parents, he's still spoiled rotten when it comes to material items. he isn't used to not getting his own way immediately, and he can turn into a whining, spoiled little pest when he really gets riled up. he just doesn't quite understand why the world stops revolving around his wants and needs the second he steps out of his mansion-house.
- extroverted & friendly: victor loves people! the great tragedy of being of an undesirable social class (the nerds, dweebs, teacher pets, the very bottom of the high school social ladder) is that he really doesn't like to be disliked and really doesn't like to be alone. he would love to have a million friends to hang out with all the time. he's a very open, friendly boy when the situation will allow it, and despite his oblivious, childish streak, he's got a very kind heart.
- bratty: victor, after many years of putting up with teasing and bullying, has become somewhat defensive, and his reaction to being bullied is not usually what people expect from such a usually friendly, puppy-like boy. in a situation where he feels threatened, victor turns into a nose-in-the-air-rich-white-kid brat. it's funny to watch, really.
- intelligent: while everyone can tell immediately after meeting victor that he's a nerd, not many people realize that he's also a genius. his IQ hovers somewhere in the 150-160 range, and he's got a very, very sharp and clear memory when it comes to material he's read. his intelligence is raw and somewhat uncultivated; he took advanced and AP classes in high school, but he never really got anyone's attention that he might need a more challenging outlet. plus, most people think he's just the typical run of the mill nerd - smart, but not that smart. he doesn't particularly mind, though; being smart never really got him what he wanted most, which was of course love and popularity from everyone ever.
- sheltered & naive: to be totally frank, victor doesn't really know anything about the real world beyond his own lonely bubble of safety, security, and x-box. he's gullible and easily excitable, and although he likes to think that he has a solid grasp on the world, he really has yet to break out of the very, very sheltered perspective that he's had his whole life.
- oblivious: for being a genius, victor can be really, really dumb sometimes. he doesn't totally get subtle social gestures and expectations, and he has the tendency to sort of float through situations without really understand them, missing things that other people don't and ending up blissfully unaware of things.
- optimist & idealist: victor is always looking on the bright side. if there's a silver lining, he'll find it and he'll get really excited about it. he sees the best in everyone and although he can hold a grudge and sulk like nobody's business, when it comes down to it he's fairly quick to forgive. he likes to view the world through rose-tinted glasses and gets uncomfortable when people confront him with some of the awful, ugly truths of the world - in cases like this, he prefers to tune it out.
- impressionable: he's oblivious, he's naive, he's sheltered, he's overly friendly and eager to please, and he's very, very easy to manipulate. he has definitely gotten into sticky, unpleasant situations because he wasn't able to see that he was being used by someone.
- wistful & day-dreamy: victor spends a lot of time fantasizing; about love, about friendships and adventures, traveling, star wars, you name it. he day dreams all the time - which is one of his professors' most common issue with him - and it sometimes makes his reality difficult to handle, since there is really no way it could ever live up to his imagination.

OVERALL HISTORY :
the worst thing victor's parents ever decided to do was to have a child. neither of them were ever meant to have children; ann, whose trust fund was about as impressive as her stone cold bitch tactics in the business world, is a ruthless, queenly woman who is ambitiously driven to dominate in everything she does; victor thomas, her husband, is equally cold, equally ambitious, and a very right-winged traditionalist on top of all that (it's actually amazing he even married ann; she's the only woman who he feels shouldn't remain at all times within the confines of her kitchen).
but after they married, combined their fortunes, and spent three weeks in france before they returned to their respective business corporations, they had a child anyway.
and that child was victor.
victor grew up in the care of a select group of nannies and tutors. the nannies adored him, of course; he was a precious child. he had blue eyes and soft blond hair and he was full of life and love and so talented too!
despite the fact that neither of his parents were even around to see his first several birthdays, victor didn't have a bad childhood; he had nannies who loved him and he was given only the best toys and games to entertain him.
it got harder as he entered middle and then high school; his parents stopped hiring nannies and the house was empty much of the time, he didn't make very many friends (though he had a small, modest circle of like minded young men who came over to kill some zombies on the x-box once and a while). as a freshman, he's excited to leave all of that behind him and start a new chapter in his life.
filled with awesome people who he'll somehow manage to convince that he's awesome too.
