FIRST THINGS ARE ALWAYS FIRST.
FIRST THINGS ARE ALWAYS FIRST.
FULL NAME : Caleb Owen Darling; he likes to think that his family's somehow related to J. M. Barrie, the guy who wrote Peter Pan.
NICKNAMES : Cal is what most people use. Cookie is one of his more personal pet names. But you're probably not allowed to call him that (unless your name is Freude).
AGE : Eighteen, April 8th
GENDER : He's all man, baby.
ETHNICITY : Caleb is one of those average european-american mixes. Some of his family is believed to have come over from Sweden, which could explain the light hair and light skin.
RELIGION : His parents are Catholics. Caleb is not so sure what he is, though.
SEXUALITY : Bisexual. Although, he usually goes for guys.
STATUS : He's...technically single. But his heart is taken.
MEMBER GROUP : Valedictorians. He wasn't in the tippy top of his class in high school, but at Winchester, he's raised the bar up a bit. It's a community college. So, doing that isn't terribly difficult.
YEAR : Freshman year for him. He probably has no idea how wild college can get, especially in Vegas.
PLAY-BY : Joe Brooks.

SECRETS :
- he sort of loves this guy named Freude. The only reason it's really a secret is because Freude is not the "go steady" type. Caleb's hoping that will change, though.
- He had a pretty bad encounter with this boy named Marcus. No one knows the exact details of it, but he has a scar or two from it. (lolthatwasalamesecret)
WEAKNESS :
- bad boys. He's just drawn to the James Dean type, with their leather jackets and mysterious ways. What can he say? Opposites attract.
- Older men. The kind that seem like they can take care of you. He just loves to feel safe and protected.
STRENGTHS :
- cheering people up. But that's only if you enjoy cuddling, hugs, or a shoulder to cry on. He doesn't really give great advice, but he's a fantastic listener.
- Befriending strangers. Caleb has a knack for getting to know people. He just loves making new friends.
OVERALL PERSONALITY :
- clingy: Once Caleb gets to know a person and considers them a friend, he's always checking up with them, wanting to hang out, wondering where that person it. If you think that's bad, he's even worse with love interests. He'll be wanting to know what you're doing every second of every day, and he'll almost always be around. If he's not with you in person, he's texting you, calling you. Hey, maybe he event sent you a letter. Whatever it takes for him.
- passionate: He puts his heart into every single thing he does, no matter how little. A lot of people think of him as emotional, and he is, just because he cares so much about every little thing. He tries not to sometimes, but holding it in is even worse for him. He probably overreacts to way too many things, and that can make people uncomfortable.
- romantic: He's probably had some type of feelings for just about everybody he's ever befriended. He just likes to imagine himself happily in love, living a day-to-day fairy tale. So far, that hasn't happened. It doesn't stop him from dreaming, though. He just wants a guy who will bring him flowers and call him baby, or a girl to take out to dinner and snuggle up to.
- jealous: When he likes a person, he usually gets extremely jealous of anyone else who spends time with them. He just doesn't like feeling threatened, and for some reason he almost constantly is. He can tend to get a bit catty when jealous. Usually, he only mutters things under his breath and gives dirty looks, though.
- hard-headed: Caleb has a bit of a stubborn streak in him. When it comes to getting rid of this boy, it can become difficult. Unless you flat out tell him that it's over and you don't love him, he'll probably stay tied to you really, really hurt him in one way or another. He just has a hard time letting relationships go.
- loyal: On the plus side, Caleb is someone who will always be there for you. If you need someone to back you up, whether you're right or wrong in the situation, he'll be one of the ones doing just that. He doesn't just leave people hanging for petty reasons. You have to screw up pretty seriously to get him to reconsider where his loyalty lies.
- excitable: It's not hard to make Caleb happy. Your company is really all that is needed to put that huge grin back on his face. He can tend to look like a hyper little pup when something has really gotten him happy. It's not the worst thing in the world, though. It's better than mopey-Caleb.
- easily manipulated: Caleb's a gullible guy. He's got book-smarts, but street-smarts aren't his thing. If you tell or promise him something, he'll believe you with all of his heart. He just doesn't get the concept of lying. He's probably done it every so often, but he doesn't really it. He thinks it's just sugar-coating the truth a little.
- naive: He's still utterly shocked when people curse around him. He's only ever had a beer or two at the few parties he's attended, and he hasn't ever seen a porn film, which most guys can't seem to fathom. He just finds innocence to be the safer route for him. He's afraid of all the possibilities out there, so he doesn't really go searching for them.
- nosy: He does enjoy knowing people's business. He likes to think that he can help everybody, but really he's just trying to know what's happening. He's one of those people who tries not to gossip because it can start terrible rumors, but he just can't seem to stay away from it. It's one of the reasons he enjoys reality shows so darn much.
SUBJECTS :
- Education- Caleb has always wanted to be a teacher. He's tutored kids since junior high, and gotten great feedback from his pupils. He enjoys little kids more than anything, though because, for some reason, they're usually the ones who seem most eager to learn.
- Mathematics- Caleb's best subject was always math, for whatever reason. He's not a great speller, and his grammar is sometimes off. But boy can he do his long division. He's hoping to teach third graders in that subject after he gets out of college.

OVERALL HISTORY :
caleb was born in west philadelphia three days early. he came out screaming, like most babies do. the thing is, he didn't stop screaming, for what seemed like forever. he actually lost his voice, he'd done so much of it. when he was taken back to where he'd be living for the next seven years, the screaming started up again. it continued on- with short breaks in-between, of course- until he was four. at four, he decided he was a shy child and didn't do much talking, except for to his mother. his mother was his everything, all the time. he couldn't eat until mommy got home. he couldn't sleep until mommy came to tuck him in. it became a problem- to his parents, anyway. there weren't really any good psychologists in philadelphia, especially not for caleb's issue. they needed a highly-recommended professional to pry little caleb away from his mother.
they moved, in the hopes that caleb would learn to function on his own. caleb, however, was not so happy about this. seven year old caleb decided he wasn't quiet anymore. he started screaming again. every single time they took him down to that psychologist he did nothing but scream. finally, they just had to give it up- especially after an official request to seek help elsewhere. caleb's problem was left unsolved. he got over his mother quite quickly after their attempts to get him treatment. he didn't really see his co-dependency as a problem, although it continued to be one.
he found new people to cling to. he got in relationships that moved fast and ended just as quickly. he got his own heart broken more times than he can probably count. yet, these days, you'll find him doing the same exact thing. it's like he's set on replay, and he just can't find his way out of it.

ROLE PLAY SAMPLE :
Caleb loved the beach for a lot of reasons.
One, it was breathtaking. The sand, the ocean, the sea gulls. The sounds could lull any soul to peace, if only for a few minutes- at least, that's the way he saw it. He sometimes came out to the shore just to sit and look. He liked to do that at much quieter times of the day, though. He'd sneak out before sunrise and sit on the shore waking up with the sun. It was quite a spiritual experience- and Caleb wasn't even a spiritual person.
Another reason he loved the beach was that it was so vast. There were miles and miles of open sand, just for him- well, and for Macy. Macy was his Irish Setter, and Caleb's best friend when in the confines of his own home. Every once in a while, when the weather was just right, though, he'd set them both out to take to the beach. Macy would pull him along by her leash, already knowing where they were going, her tail practically thrashing from side to side. It was an amusing sight, Caleb jogging with what little of the leash he could hold onto behind the now almost fully grown Setter.
Today was one of those days, and when they reached the beach and made it near enough to the shore, Caleb flopped down on the sand for a second to catch his breath. Macy would give him the benefit of the doubt and settle down beside him until he could sit up and see straight.
"I dont-" He said, still panting a bit, more than Macy was, which was a bit sad. "know why you always do that to me." He grumbled at her a bit frustrated that he could never teach Macy how to go a good walking speed for him. He patted the reddish-brown fur of her coat anyway and got himself up on his feet again. Setting up his towel and leaving his shirt and shoes there with it, he pulled an object from out of the beach bag he'd packed.
Macy's tail started thrashing again immediately. "I knew you'd like this." Caleb grinned, and waved the frisbee in the air a few times before finally tossing it across the beach, watching Macy run after it. He let her bring it back to him a few times before chasing after it with her, trying to reach the frisbee he'd thrown before her. Of course, he never did, but he knew it got Macy riled up and that always got a few laughs out of him.
People were slowly starting to fill the beach, though, and Caleb was finding it much more difficult to toss the frisbee very far. He resigned himself to the most open areas of the beach he could find and continued to throw the frisbee, trying to watch how hard he threw it so it wouldn't end up in anybody's lap...or whopping them in the back of the head. Macy was getting restless, though, and he figured he could get one good throw in if he just aimed well enough...
Caleb had horrible aim, though, as was demonstrated by the next throw. He was sure he'd aimed between the couple under the umbrella and the guy lying out on the sand, but somehow it seemed to curve for that poor guy.
"Oh no." He'd said as he imagined the scene that was just about to take place. He saw Macy already rearing to chase after the frisbee, and the frisbee was heading straight for that poor guy's stomach. "Macy, no." He said to her as she was about to speed off for it.
It was no use, he followed after her, able to grab her by the collar before she was practically on top of the guy that his frisbee had chosen as a landing spot.
"Sorry about the frisbee, I have terrible aim, and I just didn't think on it before I threw it. Gosh, I'm reall sorry." He was talking so fast that he didn't take the time to really look at the guy. He was also trying to restrain Macy as well, though, who really wanted that frisbee.
