Benji clicked his laptop shut and slid off his bed, his head already pounding. He was meeting someone new, a boy, fuck. What was he doing? He hadn't gone out with anyone properly since high school. It was a strange feeling, getting himself dressed in something half respectable - because Mitchie already had a reputation for style - and walking out of the door and out into the street.
Making his way to the dance studio, bag slung over his shoulder he diverted himself into Starbucks, buying himself a coffee to calm his nerves. Was this even a good idea? What if Percy found out and thought...oh what did it matter, Benji deserved a change of scene. It wasn't like he was going to jump into Mitchie's pants the first chance he got, though - Benji smiled slightly to himself as he walked out of the coffee shop - that wouldn't be so bad.
After what felt like an age, Benji found himself outside of the dance studio, knocking on the door lightly. Benji had hired the whole studio, but Mitchie had collected the key the day before. God, I hope he's here, Benji thought, biting his lip and sliding his hands into his pockets. What if Mitchie had bailed on him? Maybe Simon had stepped in to ruin everything again. It was likely.
Hello...?

Mitchie's outside of school activities were starting to become very few, all of his time focused on the dance studio, which was the place he liked best anyway. He knew he probably should go out, seek knew acquaintances, but Julliard was waiting for him. So, everything and everyone else would have to wait. Lucky enough for him, he didn't have to stick his neck out to meet someone. The college chat room actually proved useful to network and he'd met a Benji Flynn who was interested in using his dancing talents in a music video for a music production assignment. Well, that just sounded like two birds with one stone, didn't it? Meeting someone new and keeping up with his dancing. He wasn't due to meet Benji here until late into the afternoon, but he'd gotten there much earlier, just to brush up on his routine for the Vegas dance hall. He just didn't feel it was right yet. Some of the moves felt stiff, or forced and Mitchie hated that feeling. He was sure, if he tried, he could sing all the words to Perfect For Me now. He'd practiced the routine to it at least four times before deciding he should switch over to the song Benji'd wanted him to take a look at. It was a good contemporary piece- and as he pulled off his ballet shoes, he let it play in the empty studio, mind running over the routine he'd been piecing together. Pulling the slightly oversized t-shirt on and his sweat pants. He hardly looked like the fashion-forward boy he usually was, but he certainly couldn't dance in any of his usual attire. Checking the time on the big studio wall-clock he ran a brush through his hair, making sure he didn't look a complete mess when Benji arrived. First impressions were key, after all. He spent the next few minutes primping before he heard a knock at the studio's front door. Peering around the locker rooms to see who it was he spotted who he was pretty sure was Benji. He'd only ever seen the online picture he used, but he was pretty sure that was the boy. Heading over to the door he opened it up, smiling lightly, noting the scarf which automatically gained the boy extra approval. " Hey, Benji." He nodded, opening the door up wider to let the taller boy inside the studio. " Sorry I'm not dressed the best, I've been here a while practicing different routines." He apologized, feeling all of a sudden self-conscious in the less than fashionable sweats and oversized tee. Pulling the sleeve back up on his shoulder, he lead the boy further inside until they were in the center of the room. " So, nice to finally meet you in person." Mitchie chirped hands going back to adjust the sleeve of his shirt again. Outfit: HereeTagged: Benny boy. Notes: Huzzah for Mitchie's first actual post. lol

Benji smiled, stepping into the studio and eyeing the boy's attire, You don't have to apologise to me, not on style anyway. I'm probably one of the worst dressed guys here. So really, I should be apologising to you! he commented, chuckling lightly following the boy into the middle of the floor where he suddenly found himself surrounded by about eight copies of his reflection. He smirked and pretended to check himself out before turning back to the other boy who did look adorable in the oversized shirt.
It's a pleasure to meet you too, nice to meet someone who hasn't been sucked into Simon's web, he smiled, dumping his bag onto the floor and slipping his hands into his pockets. Well you may have guessed I don't know the first thing about dancing, but I have a camera and a laptop and the music, so I guess we just see what happens? What do you think?
Benji smiled at the other boy, pulling the scarf from his neck and putting it next to his bag. Bending over slightly he opened up his bag and pulled out his laptop and his camera. He put the laptop down on the floor and opened up the camera, pointing it over to Mitchie. A record of our first meeting, Benji laughed, recording Mitchie's facial expression. The taller boy smiled softly, clicking the camera off and returning to his laptop, What did you think of the song? Did you like it? Or do you think I could use something better? Benji asked, worried Mitchie hadn't been able to work a routine around the song.

"Oh, yeah?" Mitchie's brow raised, seeing nothing wrong with what Benji had chosen to wear. "You could've fooled me." He smiled honestly. Tilting his head slightly when Benji mentioned this Simon guy again he nodded slowly. "Yeah, uhm, he doesn't really seem like someone I'd get on with." He admitted, frowning at the memory of the nickname 'Ballet Boy'. Someone who came up with those kind of nicknames did not gain much of Mitchie's patience.
Shrugging lightly as he watched Benji pull the laptop and camera out of his bag he laughed, making as if he were going to shield his face from the camera. "Oh, yeah, you can record how sloppy I looked today." He joked pulling his hand back down to his side.
"The song's actually a very good routine piece. I came up with a few different things. Since it's your project you can tell me what you think works best." He nodded, biting into his lip. Mitchie was pretty confident about his dancing, he just didn't have many people watch him- not many besides the occasional judges he tried out in front of. He was probably just psyching himself out here. Running a hand quickly through his hair, he glanced back up to Benji,
"So, uhm, if you want, I can show you what I have so far?" He offered, hoping he'd practiced it enough before now.

Oh shush, you don't look bad at all! Benji said, smiling softly, as he pulled out a tripod and set it up, placing the camera neatly on top, bending over to get the best angle. Benji straightened up slightly, scrunching his nose up a little bit as he looked over to Mitchie, the scenery was a little bland, but he could always edit it all out later. He hadn't spent hours in computer classes for no reason.
He moved around the camera and stood in front of the other boy, placing his hands on the other's arms and moving him slightly to the left. Nodding to himself he walked back over to the camera, pressing a few more buttons. So have you always liked dancing? Or did someone influence you to do it? he asked, far too curious for his own good.
Straightening up once more he smiled at Mitchie and then opened up his laptop, clicking out of a few web pages and opening his music, and clicking on the song. I'd love to see it, I'm going to take your word that it's going to be amazing because I can't tell a tango from a fox-trot! he laughed, stepping back behind the camera. He checked it was recording and started up the music, already memorised by the other boy.

Mitchie fussed absent-mindedly with his hair, swiping it into place as his nose wrinkled in disbelief. "I doubt that's true." He said before giggling, "But I appreciate you lying for me." He smiled playfully, allowing Benji to direct him into where he was supposed to stand. The feeling of anxiety came back over him again as he tried to remember the routine he'd worked out for Benji's song in his head. The anxiety luckily didn't show on his face, the look of calm intent masking the nerves bubbling up inside.
"I've liked it for a pretty long time, yeah. I went on this school trip to a ballet in the third grade and I fell in love with the way all of the ballerinas moved." He explained, still remembering the initial feeling of longing to be up on that stage with the ballerinas, to be one of them. If only he'd been introduced sooner, maybe he'd be farther along with his dancing... Maybe Julliard would have wanted him then.
Snapping himself out of thought, he realized Benji had started up the camera. Bracing himself for the music he immediately got into the right mindset, clearing all other thought out of his head. All he paid attention to was the music, and the way it directed his body to move. It was pretty amazing, actually, how the nerves melted away when he forgot the four walls around him and the eyes watching him. The music was the only thing he felt.
It was when the song ended, that the red tint came back into his cheeks and he remembered someone else was here watching him. Clasping his hands in front of him quietly, he peered under his lashes over to Benji trying to get an idea of what the boy's reaction had been.
