It'd been just a week since the day Oakley had learned her relationship with two men might be changed. Of course, she hadn't expected any of this to happen the way it had. In her mind, she saw herself keeping both their feelings at bay while she got her kicks whenever she wanted. However, it seemed that was almost impossible, for here she was seven days prior to this moment, staring into the eyes of Teddy Munroe, confessing he wanted to be with her. And just her. It only made matters worse when Ryan wanted the same from her.
Oakley really didn't want things to end with either of them, but deep down, she knew it had to. And so, she made a decision one night when Ryan asked her if she would ever consider being Teddy's girlfriend. On first thought, you'd think Oakley wasn't into that, but the thought of being Teddy's sort of appealed to her in a strange way. She wanted Teddy. So, Ryan left her. That still sort of her though. She liked Ryan. She liked him a lot, and watching him up and leave to go to Europe was hard, but Oakley knew he wasn't right for her. They would have killed each other. The thoughts ran through her head as Oakley sat in the cafe chair, staring at his name in her contacts. Taking a deep breath, she pressed the trashcan shaped button on her screen.
Are you sure you want to delete "Ryan Mitchell" from your contact(s)?
Oakley let out a deep breath and hit the "yes" button. "I have to..." she mumbled.
Ryan Mitchell has been deleted.
"Good." she whispered, stashing the phone into her bag before looking up at the time. 6:57PM. Taking another deep, shaky breath, Oakley tapped on the table nervously. Teddy would be there with her any minute, and she would have to tell him her decision. Would he even want her after all that happened? After she hadn't called him until an hour ago asking him to meet her at te local coffee shop in a week? Hopefully he would. She wasn't exactly one to give up her lifestyle for someone. Well, she supposed he wasn't either. Looking up at the door one last time, she bit her lip. "Here we go..." she muttered, taking a sip of her bottled water. "Where are you Teddy...?"

Smoothing down his hair and straightening out his shirt, Teddy Munroe took another look in the mirror. Maybe he should wear something a little smarter than his rolled-up jeans and a cream shirt. But was Oakley expecting something like that? Or was this enough? Teddy shook his head and grabbed his bag, ignoring the nagging in the back of his head that he should have dressed up.
It had been a week since they had last spoken, Teddy had allowed Oakley her space by not contacting her. He had worried that she would take it as a sign he didn't care, but and hour ago he had received a message form her to meet him in Starbucks, from her. He had smiled goofily at his phone for a moment before dashing to get dressed.
He made it to Starbucks with seconds to spare and stepped into the warm interior. He spotted Oakley immediately, and walked confidently over to the table, uninterested in coffee. He only wanted to hear what Oakley had to say. Had she chosen between him and Ryan? Had she picked Ryan over him? Bending around the table he kissed her lightly on the cheek before sitting down, Hey, he said softly, pulling his bag from his shoulders andleaning back in his chair. How are you? he asked quietly, worried about the conversation they were about to have.

As the clock struck seven, the anxiousness and nervousness began settling in, and Oakley was beginning to realized just exactly what she was doing. Gripping the bottle of half-drunken water tightly, Oakley kept her eyes on the door. Why was she nervous? This was a great thing for her. Everything would go swell. And as she saw the door fly open and her eyes fell upon the familiar face, the brunette felt all of her butterflies flutter away. At least he had showed up, right?
Taking a sharp breath in as he pressed his soft lips to her cheek, she felt her skin heat up all over and smiled in acknoledgment as she eyed him across the table. "Hi, Teddy." she whispered back, mimicking his softness. Sitting up straight now, she rested her newly manicured hands on the table, silently tapping her fingers on the wood as she pondered how exactly she would tell him what she had brought him here to hear. It was difficult, to say the least. Taking up the time, she calmly answered his question, "I'm-I'm great."
After a few moments, Oakley's eyes darted back to Teddy, a smile making its way onto her painted pink lips. "So, you know how I said I needed time to uh, think about...us?" she questioned. After a moment, she thought it would be okay to continue on. "I thought about it, and I think I might want to be with you, Teddy. Really, this time." she finished, biting her lip. THere, it was done. SHe had finally said it. But, she still doubted his response. Especially after all of the negative comments said about her, how he could do better They're opinions didn't matter just then, however. ONly Teddy's mattered.

Teddy leant back in his chair as he listened to her for a moment, his eyes darting from her to the other people in the room and then back to her. He sat there in silence for a moment, playing with the collar of his shirt. You might want to be with me? he repeated slowly, trying to get his head around what she was saying. He'd never really been sure if Oakley was committed to this the same way that he was.
Maybe this wasn't what she wanted at all, but was going along with it because Ryan had left her to fend for herself. He bit his tongue and looked up at her properly. Oakley, you know I'm going to give up my job for you. You have to want this more than anything. If you don't then we can't do this. he said seriously, leaning forward and taking her hand. I just don't think you're ready for this.

The way Teddy fidgeted with the collar of his shirt made Oakley even more nervous than she already was. She could almost hear the sound of the fabric rubbing against the ski of his fingers. Watching this instead of really listening to what Teddy was actually saying, Oakley jumped when she heard him finish with: "I just don't think you're ready for this..." That statement had always triggered something inside her ever since she was little. It was almost as if anyone who said it was challenging her to something. Why didn't Teddy trust her to make the right decision? Gritting her teeth, Oakley tore her eyes from the irritating fidgeting he was doing and rose her eyes to his face.
Sighing a great sigh, she leaned over the table in front of him, as if getting closer to him would make her words more believable and opened her mouth to speak. "Teddy, I know this is hard to believe. It's still hard for me to believe that I want to settle down for once in my life, but seriously, I wouldn't joke about it." she trailed off, reaching for his hand to hold before she continued, something that was uncharacteristic of her, but suitable for the words she was saying. "I'm scared. I'm scared I will mess up because unlike you, I'm not perfect. But I'm working on it. You're sacrificing your job. I'm sacrificing my lifestyle. I think we're both doing something crazy. And if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But I've seen a lot of sappy shit movies, and it seems that a lot of them believe 'Love' is crazy. So, are we going to try this or not? Your call." she said, holding onto his hand tighter now. The words just poured out of her mouth like word vomit. She wasn't even sure if what she was saying was even remotely understandable. Biting her lip, she continued to look at Teddy, waiting for what he was going to reply with. It was a lot to think about.
