Dearest Mumsy and Popsicle,
I miss you. I've been here all but a few months, and I already can't stand it. Do you remember when I was a little girl, and you used to say "don't associate yourself with trash"? Well, how on Earth am I supposed to do that when every where I turn, THERE IT IS. And you know what's funny? People actually find it attractive. People actually think that the more trashy you are, the more appealing you are. Suburban New York didn't prepare me for this.
I know, I know, it's rude to call people trashy. But...You see, there's this boy. His name's Joey. And, I really...I dunno, I never thought I would be saying this about a simple-minded art student, but he's kind of cute in a quirky, weird kind of way. Maybe it's all the love in the air because of the winter season and all, but I think I might have a little crush on him. Well, I would, if it weren't for his skank-whore of a boyfriend. Pardon my language. It's this city getting to me. Anyway, his boyfriend, Dorian, gets EVERYTHING he wants. All the boys love him. It's the strangest thing. And he just strings Joey along, talking about how "Joey makes him so happy" and all that...that bullcrap!(Again, I'm sorry) When everyone knows Dorian is "in love" with some guy named Marcus. And Joey is so oblivious. "As long as he's happy" he says. "I love Dorian, and he'll never leave me" he says. See, Joey is so sweet. He sees the good in everyone.
He's like that cute little duck on Princess and the Frog, just sitting on the water, acting as if nothing bad will ever happen, and then SNAP. a big alligator eats it. He's that duck. And I'm just scared Dorian's the alligator, making him seem like everything is okay, when in fact...Where was I going with this? Oh, I don't know. Dorian's a bad seed. And I think Joey can do better. I'm better. We're better.
What am I doing? I can't send this to my parents. They'll think I'm a quack. To the journal you go.
Sincerely,
Bridgette Stanton<3
