Samuel hummed to himself as he walked through the endless Christmas stalls, searching for the perfect gift for Vinny. It was a difficult task due to the sheer number of different stalls, all offering enticing presents like chocolates, hand-carved toys, paintings, the list went on. He chuckled as he stopped at a stall that sold brightly coloured fish in all shapes and sizes, crafted out of metal. He picked up a reasonably small fish that was bright yellow with tiny stripes on it, the perfect animal and colour for Vinny.
Handing over the money, he put the newly wrapped gift in his bag and set off on the search for his next gift. Despite the fact that Vinny had forgiven Samuel for calling him stupid, Samuel still felt extremely sorry for the words that had come out of his mouth. So this was one way of him trying to make it up to the blonde. Money doesn't buy happiness but at least Samuel would feel a little bit better seeing the joy on Vinny's face when he opened his gifts; the image brought a smile to his face.
Samuel bought a coffee and walked over to an empty bench, a little way away from the market. He sighed and rubbed a hand over his face, before pulling out a cigarette and sparking up. He didn't especially enjoy shopping but the thought of Vinny's happiness at his gifts was keeping him going. God! when had he turned into such a sap?! He chuckled to himself, leaning back and inhaling deeply off his cigarette, enjoying a well earned break from the bright lights and sounds of the Christmas Market.

Jimmy had had a trying day, three dolls hadn't shown for work and there were rumours that no one was going to come in for new years and Amnesia would have to close. He wasn't in the best of moods and then, to top it all off, he'd heard that Freude had proposed to his little bitch of a boyfriend. How disgusting. How dare he! No doubt Freude was going to leave the suits, and Jimmy would have to put a bullet to his head. So near to Christmas as well, such a shame.
Heading out of his office Jimmy was confronted by carol singers and well-wishers wanting him to buy into their charity bull-shit. Piss off, he hissed at them, pushing past and down one of the side alleys. There he could already begin to hear more Christmas cheer, he hated cheer at the best of times. But Christmas? No. No way.
He'd been avoiding the Christmas market as much as he could, but he was on the lookout for someone he knew, for a fact, worked at one of the stalls. Instead he only walked a few feet before he came across Samuel - one of his favourite members of the Suits, though sometimes his anger got the best of him.
He sat down next to the other and smirked, lighting up his own cigarette and noticing the Christmas bag beside the other. He frowned, reaching over and rummaging inside it until he found the small gift Samuel had bought. Who is this for? he asked inspecting the small fish with some interest as he inhaled some more of his cigarette. It was part of the benefits of being with the suits - no ties, with anyone. Which meant Jimmy hadn't had to buy a single gift. So what was Samuel doing? Was there something he wasn't telling?

Samuel stiffened slightly as Jimmy sat down. He couldn't exactly say that he was pleased to see Jimmy, especially in a place like this, doing something he shouldn't be doing. Oh, hey Jimmy, didn't take you for a Christmas Market sort of person! he said, laughing rather nervously. He tried to subtly shift his bag out of Jimmy's line of sight but he had already seen it. He ran a hand through his hair as Jimmy inspected his present, desperately trying to think of an excuse as to why he would have bought anyone a gift.
Jimmy knew everything about pretty much everyone, and so, he would know that Samuel hadn't spoken to his parents since he had gotten out of juvie. He would also know that Samuel shared a room with Vinny. Could he get away with just saying it was for his roommate? Or would Jimmy assume that Vinny meant more to him than that? Umm well it's for my roommate, Samuel said, nervously inhaling on his cigarette. What was the point in lying to Jimmy anyway?! The guy knew precisely which person would provide him with the information that he needed.
Samuel glanced across to Jimmy, checking that his boss wasn't getting too angry. It was only a tiny gift, it didn't have to mean anything...did it? My roommate, he's a bit...special... So it's just something so that he's kept...occupied... It's only something small, it doesn't mean anything. He bit his finger, unsure whether his explanation made any sense or would satisfy Jimmy. He could only hope that it had and Jimmy would move on, but then again, luck had never been on Samuel's side.
- sorry it's such a shitty post :/ -

Jimmy raised an eyebrow at the attempted joke, but didn't say anything. Instead he inspected the fish further, wondering what the point of it was. Was it just an ornament? Something to gather dust and dirt? He smirked and held the fish in one hand, looking at Samuel with mild interest. So he had bought a present for his room-mate? That was...interesting.
The fact you've had to try and convince me it means nothing, makes me wonder if that's the truth, he said calmly, throwing the present back towards Samuel. If you and your room-mate wanted to fuck each other - it's none of my business. But I stated quite clearly, when you came to me that any feelings you had for friends or family should have been left at the door. Look at Freude, he got involved in a relationship and he's getting married this year. His whole life is about to go down the drain because he didn't listen. Are you going to be that stupid? he asked, his eyes narrowing at the other boy.
Jimmy had never understood feelings. The fact he had no friends and no family to speak of was well known. He didn't care - it helped him do his job. He was happy without them, he didn't need 'love' to make his life complete.

Samuel caught the present and hastily shoved it back into his bag. Pulling out his pack of cigarettes, he lit one before offering one to Jimmy. Course i wouldn't be that stupid, Jimmy. I'm not a 'relationship' person anyway, what's the point? he shrugged, taking a drag on his cigarette. He certainly wasn't a relationship person, well he never used to be, not until he had met Vinny. Samuel had no family to speak of, none that he cared for, and he had never really had any friends. He ticked all of the boxes for Jimmy, really. But then he had met Vinny and things had changed. But Jimmy didn't need to know that.
Anyway, how's work? Anything coming up soon? he asked, desperately trying to change the subject of conversation. Samuel was good at lying, but Jimmy was the sort of person who seemed to be able to see through any lie, no matter how thickly it had been weaved. Samuel would just have to hope that Jimmy would leave it alone and believe him when he said that Vinny meant nothing more to him than just a roommate.
Despite how much it pained him that Vinny was now in danger due to his new job, Samuel couldn't deny how much fun he had had. He had missed the days when he had let his anger wash over him without worrying about the consequences. And now, now he had a job where the anger helped his work. Jimmy had seemed pleased with the work that he had done, but now, he wasn't so sure. He knew that it was never a good thing to get on Jimmy's bad side, he just hoped that the man would be able to look past his measly gift and let him continue to work. And live.

Jimmy took the cigarette and frowned, I hope not. You're a good partner. But if I find out you're being dishonest, I won't hesitate in letting you go - do you understand? he said coolly, lighting up the cigarette and exhaling the silver smoke. Either way he was going to have to make sure that Samuel wasn't lying. He would have to set up a time to meet Vinny. The boy acted like a five year old, the chances are he was as honest as one. Therefore, he would tell Jimmy if there was anything going on between him and Samuel.
He looked at the other boy and had to hold back a smirk at the sudden change of topic. The other boy seemed to be hiding something, but Jimmy was in no mood to pry. He would find out the truth sooner or later - and when he did, Samuel would know about it. Jimmy briefly imagined a lifeless blonde in his arms. Strangely, it didn't give him any satisfaction. Maybe he would just have to make it happen.
I tend to keep Christmas free - everyone's around, a lot of movement. It's harder to keep unseen. Though more people are coming to Amnesia, they seem to think it's easier to get to then their wives are shopping for books and clothes. Nevertheless, there's a woman called Juliet Grimm who needs a little attention. She left my employment a month ago and hasn't been see since, anywhere. I need to make sure she's alive. Or if she's not, well, we'll come to that if it arrives. He looked at Samuel with a sideways glance, I suppose as you don't talk to your family and you don't have a boyfriend, you won't mind giving me a hand? So I can keep a close eye on you Jimmy thought to himself.
