Jimmy had always admired women, even from a young age when his mother ruled his father - and pretty much anyone else who came into her path. She had taught him some very important lessons, to always treat a woman with respect - or she’ll never sleep with you. She had died long before Amnesia was open, before the Suits were running Vegas and Jimmy couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed that she hadn’t held out for a bit longer. To see him become a success.
His father had been no use, becoming senile soon after his wife’s death. Jimmy had never looked up to him anyway. He had been a loser and Jimmy was no way inclined to be anything like that. He had started running his own business at eighteen, borrowing money and enchanting women to work for him and pretty soon it became one of the largest gentleman’s clubs in the state.
Jimmy was sure it was because he always paid the girls high wages - plus they were allowed to keep any tips from their clients. He gave them long holidays and they could choose which days they wanted to work. As long as they showed up on time, did their hours and worked hard, Jimmy had no problems. But lately he had been employing more girls from the local college - those who wanted a little taste of the high life before getting a real job - and a few of them had been skipping out on shifts, replacing them with parties and friends. Jimmy had never needed friends, so why should he let them have privileges? You didn’t need friends to get through life.
He had sat at his desk that afternoon, flicking through names on his database - searching for those highlighted in red. Lyric Holliday? Jimmy frowned, trying to remember who she was. Oh of course, the blonde who was usually so confident. If she’d needed time off to study he would have given it to her, but to just vanish entirely? That was unacceptable.
Picking up his phone he rang through to the bar to Alyssia, who usually kept a tab on who was where for him. She confirmed that she had seen Lyric entering the bar, but didn’t know where she was at the moment.
When you see her, escort her to my office. It's important, he snapped as he heard a slight giggle from the other end. Oh shut up, this time it is business.

Lyric waltzed into Amnesia, unbuttoning her thin, pink jacket and greeted her fellow Dolls, while her eyes tracing over their belongings as she air-kissed and hugged the sparkly women. Half open purses and unguarded wallets. Her fingers were itching to be put to work. In less than ten minutes, everything these women owned could be gone. But these were her sisters, in a matter of speaking. She'd have to stick with stealing from that cow, Jenna, and the rest of the sorority twats for the time being.
You're late, One redhead scolded, glaring at the younger blonde with pursed lips. Again. Lyric laughed at the woman, pressing a silencing finger to her own mouth. I got distracted, She replied, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder while she stripped down. You don't take this job seriously- The other woman had begun, but was interrupted by Alyssia, who had entered the room with a coy smirk. Jimmy wants to see you, Lyric, The blonde slid into a pair of lavender pumps, looking over at her, quizzically. But only fools questioned the boss.
Lyric Holliday may have been many things, but a fool was not one of them. (Absent-minded, perhaps. But not foolish.) Fools get caught. She nodded, unsurely, and followed the other female back toward Jimmy's office, her mind already spinning with excuses. The other woman gestured toward the door, giving her the okay to walk up to it. She knocked quietly and pushed it open slowly.
You wanted to see me? She asked, smiling softly. One of, if not the most powerful man in Vegas sat behind the desk.
And he did not seem happy.
Notes: Sorry for the end there. I was like...yeah.

Jimmy sat in silence, his elbows on his desk and his chin in his hands. How was he going to deal with her? Sadly she really hadn't done anything so terrible as to warrant a killing. Maybe she had a friend he could torture to make her work harder? Or maybe he would let her off this one time with a warning - a warning that he would make sure she was well aware he would carry out of her behaviour continued.
The knock at the door made him sit up straight, smoothing out his jacket and getting slowly to his feet as she entered the room. Oh yes, he remembered her now. Looking the girl up and down he walked around the front of his desk and rested against it, pointing to the leather seat in front of him. Yes, take a seat, he offered, crossing his ankles over and his arms over his chest.
I've been looking at the timetable, making sure everyone has been doing their fair share of work. You name seems to be coming up in red as being later, or not turning up at all, more than anyone else. Can you explain that to me? he asked, and eyebrow raised as he looked down at her.
At least now he understood why she was getting so many tips. Lyric Holliday...her name even suggested she should work for him.
