Twisted dreams and scattered screams, Jimmy thought to himself as he pushed open the gate to the old fun park. The last time he had stepped food on the overgrown paths was Halloween, the death of Daisy Lewis still fresh in his mind. Although he hadn't been the one to put a gun to her head, he had watched her lifeless body fall the one hundred foot from the top of the roller-coaster, where she had stopped running. He had cleared away the evidence, of course, but those more beady eyed could notice the footprints in the soil of someone in heels making a dash for freedom. But no one got away from Jimmy. Not if he wanted them dead.
He slid his hands into his pockets, strolling quite pleasantly in the morning sunshine. He was one of the few who remembered the reason for the closure. A roller-coaster ride gone horribly wrong. He looked up into the face of a decaying clown who was offering him beads and prizes and a dollar a turn. Jimmy smiled to himself, running his fingers over the peeling paint.
It had been a long year, and now he was already in the first month as deep as he could get. But he still hadn't seen Vikki. Of course he was still paying her - they had made a deal. But she hadn't entered Amnesia since his outburst. She also hadn't been returning his calls, not that he called often. Just once a week, a reminder that her money had been paid. There had been no thanks, no nothing.
Jimmy climbed into the front cart of the ghost train and pulled out his phone. Pressing a few buttons he opened up a blank text.
I'm at the fun park, my favourite ride. If you don't come, I'll assume you want nothing more to do with me, or our deal. This is your last chance. J.
Pressing send he leant back in the cart and waited. He would give her an hour, maybe two. Not that he even cared if she showed up or not.

i've grown tired of the same old story, i'm ready for a change. Life had been hectic for Victoria recently. Between her regular clients, her job at the vintage clothing store, moving in, and 'socializing,' she'd hardly had time to herself. Finally she sat in her apartment alone, her eyes scanning the room with a vacant stare as her spoon twirled in a circular motion in her soup. Her thoughts were about as vacant as her stare. It was unusual for her to have spare time where she wasn't doing anything, and she had a whole day with nothing to do.
Letting out an overly-dramatic sigh, she tasted the first spoonful of her soup before glancing at her phone as if she was waiting for it to do something. It wouldn't, though. Ryan was with Mitchie, and truthfully aside from her clients and one night stands, she didn't really hang out with anyone else.
Then, there was Jimmy...
That name had Vikki chewing on the inside of her mouth, her eyes narrowed as she tried to remember how long it had been since she'd seen him. At least a few weeks, if not a month. She unlocked her iPhone and scrolled to his text messages, he was still paying her, but hadn't spoken to her since the outburst. It shocked her, truth be told, that he was still paying her although she wasn't doing anything for him. It was nice of him though, which wasn't what she was used to with him. Sure, he was nice to her when she did things for him. Why was he still, though? Opening up the keyboard on her iPhone, she stared at it for a few moments. Lost in her mental debate, she jumped as her phone vibrated, sending her text message alert echoing through the room.
I'm at the fun park, my favourite ride. If you don't come, I'll assume you want nothing more to do with me, or our deal. This is your last chance. J.
Her eyes were narrowed more than they previously were as she read it, her heart half sinking as she read it. Fun Park? Where that girl died? Vikki had a funny feeling about this, but she knew she had to go. Even if it was just to say goodbye, because who knew what he wanted. Plus, she was bored. She had nothing planned today and this was something to do, so she replied back with a simple, "k." and got dressed before heading over there.
Swallowing the lump in her throat as she walked through the gate, her eyes scanned around the amusement park. The knots in her stomach grew larger and tighter with each step she took in the direction that would lead her to Jimmy. Her heels clicking against the concrete grew louder and faster as she walked deeper and deeper in. Lord knows why she decided to dress nice, but she did. Who knew what she would be getting out of this meeting, might as well make the most of it. Especially if it was going to get her back into good graces with Jimmy. He was her highest paying client and as much as she hated to admit it, she needed his money.
Approaching the Ghost Train, she straighted out her clothing one final time before walking through the queue. Halfway through she could see a mess of blonde hair sitting in the front car. With a smile, she approached him from behind and ran her fingers gently through his hair, like old times, before she slid into the cart with him. When she turned to look at him, her smile grew softer and her eyes neutral. Unsure what to say, she sat there for a few moments before finally managing to say, "hey," her voice trailing off slightly as she looked away. She hated feeling unsure but with Jimmy, you never knew what he was going to do next. WORDS: 639 OUTFIT: HERE NOTES: THIS SHALL BE FUN~

Jimmy didn't smile at the reply, in fact he felt like he shouldn't even care if she came or not. The fact she confirmed it actually made him feel slightly worse. She wasn't coming to see him. She was coming for the money. Not that he cared. Because he didn't. She was just one chick in a sea of others. He wasn't even that bothered. But he was clearly loosing money if he was paying for something he wasn't getting. So he was rectifying it, that was all. There was nothing else to it.
Leaning back in the cart he pressed his feet up against the barrier that used to come down to protect it's visitors from harm. But not it was rusting and cold and no doubt would break if he tried to pull it anywhere. He focused on the zombie face in front of him. The rotting paint falling around it's eyes, the red stains over it's lips. If anything it looked scarier now than it ever had done when the park was in use.
Jimmy had always loved the ghost trains, the blood and gore to scare little children. Some of his best ideas had come from ghost trains. He wouldn't have dug up the dead if he hadn't seen it on a ghost train. even watching the luminous skeletons dancing in the artificial wind had been amazing to see.
He sat up suddenly when he felt fingers running through his hair, his eyes were cold he didn't even look at her as she sat down. Instead he had returned his attention to the zombie ahead. He waited for her to speak first, though he had to admit it wasn't like him. He was a man of first moves, but this was her mess. She needed to sort it.
I thought I made myself pretty clear when I signed that deal. You were to be mine, he began finally looking at her. I will pay you until the end of the month, give you time to sort out your disgrace of a life, and then that's it. I want nothing more to do with you.
Looking down he noticed the silver bracelet he had given her, it had come from Tiffany's. What a waste of money.

i've grown tired of the same old story, i'm ready for a change. Jimmy's cold stare would've ran chills down Vikki's spine had she not been used to it by now. Instead she sat there and ran her fingers along the front of the cart, her eyes looking around the ghostly themed ride. Very dark, very forbidden. Much like Jimmy, probably what attracted him to this coaster in the first place.
Finally he decide to break the silence, and her heart skipped a beat between it's rapid pace as he did. When she turned to look at him again, it took everything in her to hold back. She wanted to stop him there, but she knew the last thing she should do at this point in time, or ever, was interrupt him. Instead she let him finish, but she hadn't realized she clenched her jaw until her gaze turned away from his and she sat there for a moment in silence.
She hated to admit it, but he was right. Her life was a disgrace, she was using men for their money. Using Jimmy too, and he was still paying her and she hadn't done her duties in quite a while. Granted, he had told her in his way to fuck off until he called to her. Then when he did here she was, but she couldn't argue that with him. Only place it would get here would be either bankrupt or in a body bag.
Letting out a sigh, she reached her arm back to rest it on the back of the car and resting her head against her hand and looked back up at him. Reaching over, she gently placed her free hand on his shoulder and tried to word her phrase correctly, but still not trying to push any buttons. "I clearly never stopped being yours," she started, trying to think of how to explain herself for a few seconds before continuing. "I would have come, I told you that I would. And.. I'm here now. You called, I came."
As her hand dropped from his shoulder, she shook her head and sat up straight, looking as though she was about to get up. She wanted to, she wanted to just get up and smack him across the face and storm out. The concequences were far too extreme for her to do that though. "My life may be a disgrace to you," she said and looked at him, almost as if she was daring him to talk back, "but you're a contributor to it. What does that say about you?"
"Fine," she finished, responding to him wanting nothing to do with her and looked she looked at him again. This time her expression was different, unexplainable, as she asked, "is that really all you called me here for? Seems a bit out of your way for something so straight to your point." WORDS: 472

Jimmy watched her out of the corner of his eye, was he really going to let her go so easily. Of course he was, there were no feelings here. None for her, at least. Why would he ever have feelings for someone like her. Well he didn't. Not even a little bit. Not even if she was the last girl on earth...
He shook his head and stood up, stepping out of the car and onto the rotting wooden platform. Moving round to the front of the cart he stood on the tracks, jumping a few times, making sure they were still safe. They sounded pretty secure, and the wood looked pretty strong still, despite the time it had had to rot. Looking at her, still in the cart, his tongue slipped over his bottom lip. Why was he even here? With her.
And what about all those other men? Were you 'all theirs' as well? he asked, his voice raising slightly, as if he was getting angry. I paid for you, gave you everything you needed and still you run off to them every chance you had. Maybe this was what jealousy felt like. Jimmy had always had whatever he wanted, and now that he was being asked to share it had put a whole new perspective on things.
Shaking his head he slid his hands into the pocket of his smart suit pants, there was a dark smirk on his face as he listened to her trying to explain herself. I may be a contributor, but you came to me. I didn't force you to do anything. I know I'm a bad person, I always have been. But no one is born a worthless slut. Those are made.
He looked up at her and shrugged at her next question, I didn't come here to talk to you. I came here to relax a bit and then I thought of you. The fact we're talking here wasn't actually a fully formed plan. But by all means, go. I don't care. and with that he turned on his heels and pushed open the double doors to the inner workings of the ghost train and stepped inside.

i've grown tired of the same old story, i'm ready for a change. Vikki kept a steady gaze on Jimmy, even as he hopped out of the car and stood on the tracks. Her gaze unflinching as he hopped on the tracks, almost hoping he'd fall through. As he began talking, she raised an eyebrow and pursed her lips together. Crossing her legs, she almost wanted to smirk as Jimmy's voice raised. Ah, that got your attention, she thought.
"They never asked me to be theirs, they know what I am and what I do. I'm not a girl who can be tied down, but I did things for you I'd never do for other clients, so there was a sense of exclusivity there," she said as she uncrossed her legs and stood up, leaning forward and resting her hands on the cart. "This is my job, Jimmy," she added with emphasis on 'job' as he commented about her running off to other men. "Others paid for me as well, but you already knew this. You knew this when we made our agreement. How is it different now?"
She knew she was a fool for challenging him, but she was too hot headed and stubborn for her own good at times, especially when such derogitory names are being thrown at her. "You're right on that, you are a bad person. But clearly I'm not worthless if you'd pay so much for me," she said, raising an eyebrow again as she stared into his eyes with an even more daring expression than before.
When he began explaining that he had thought of her, Vikki wanted to laugh. Instead she shook her head and got out of the cart, looking after him as he stepped into the ride. "If you're reallyy done with me then there's no reason for me to stay. If you're done with me, go ahead and run away. Find another girl who can try give you what I've given you," shrugging, she kept a poker face and said, "I'll find money from other people in this city. Maybe someone like.. Justus," with a dark smirk to match his. WORDS: 347

He tried to shut out her voice, tried to focus on something else. Another girl. Lacey, Lyric, anyone but Vikki. But it was difficult when she was so insistent on pushing every single one of his buttons. Jimmy didn't talk about feelings, as a rule, he never had done. He had no need for them in his line of work.
He stopped in the doorway and turned on his heels to look at her, his eyes narrowing. If she was going to play dirty then he had no problems doing the same. But I asked. I put my neck on the line, and you agreed when you signed your life over to me. Your life revolved around my every move. he spat, crossing his arms over his thin frame. No. 'this' is not your job. Your job was to keep me happy and I would pay you well for it and give you anything your twisted little mind desired.
Shaking his head he walked towards her, blocking her way with her back against the cart. He ignored her question, his hands gripping each side of the metal covering, You weren't worthless. But now...now you're nothing. Just the same as every other slut I've met. With a smirk on his lips he leant forward and blew softly in her ear.
I hate to break it to you, Doll. But I carved Justus' heart out of his chest just last week. He won't be paying you anything. I guess you could still fuck him when you got desperate, but I didn't think you were one to enjoy necrophilia. he whispered, before straightening up, a sadistic smile on his face.
I don't know what I ever saw in you. You're pathetic, he spat at her, half tempted to cut out her heart as well.

i've grown tired of the same old story, i'm ready for a change. Vikki knew she'd made Jimmy angry the instant he turned and looked at her. Her outside remained calm while her insides began to yell at her to run. Swallowing her fear and attempting to maintain her pride, she held her head high as he began to rant about what he had been paying her to do. Now that, she laughed and shook her head at. "I'm not one of your dolls Jimmy, I was more of a mistress, a leisure. A benefit. Yes, my job was to keep you happy as it is with all of my clients. I was willing to make it work after I already had made previous plans. Your inability to compromise is what conflicted this deal, not I."
As he walked closer and stood in the way of her way out, the knot in her stomach tightened again as she looked up at him. He wouldn't kill her, would he? She raised an eyebrow and glared into his eyes and gripped against the cart so she wouldn't smack him across the face as he, again, called her a slut. "Obviously I'm more than nothing if you're still here," she said in her seductive tone with the sly smirk she wore so well.
Crossing her legs as he leaned closer, her smirk dropped when he couldn't see as he told her the fate Justus had. Sure, he had only been a client but he had been very good to her as well, with much less restrictions than Jimmy had. Plus, he was her dealer. She couldn't go wrong there. Not wanting him to know that the news twinged at her even the slightest, she put her smirk back on and ran her hands along the sleeves of his blazer. Looking up into his eyes, she tilted her head and said, "well that's too bad, he paid well too. Plus, he was very, very kind to me. It’s almost romantic, you carving his heart out... It's almost like you did it because he was fucking me. I mean, apart from that what did he ever really do to you?"
Smiling she kept her head tilted as he called her pathetic and laughed, "I'm not pathetic, or else you wouldn't have wasted your time with me." WORDS: 379

Jimmy clenched his jaw, ignoring the seductive way her fingers were walking over his arm. His eyes widened at her, completely take by surprised by the fact she was laughing at him. I thought you knew me better than that. I don't compromise. he said simply, moving away from her and turning his back. He leant on the ticket booth, trying to clear his head of the anger that was bubbling up inside him.
Jimmy didn't lose. Ever.
He smirked when she talked about Justus. The street rat who couldn't keep his mouth shut. They had mutually agreed to ignore each other, but Justus had gone too far. Stepping in Jimmy's circle like he owned it. That was unacceptable and Jimmy had had no problems with watching the other boy's blood run down the street. In fact it had almost been delightfully amusing, especially when he had been told Justus' little brother and his hippie boyfriend were trying to get him arrested.
Well, I have been told I'm a very romantic man. You can have it if you want, it's in a jar in my basement, he lied effortlessly. I didn't even know he was fucking you, though that's all the more reason to get rid of you. Imagine, he scoffed, sinking so low you'd have to sleep with him! How hilarious!
His voice lowered again and he looked directly at her. Not really sure why he was still talking. He didn't even want to be near her. Like a disgusting disease. Don't worry, Doll. I only killed him over a broken contract...oh wait, isn't that what's going on here. You've broken a contract. His face lit up like a child in a candy store. His finger going to his chin as if he had only just made the connection and his face portraying false-shock.
He moved back over to her, pressing up against her small frame so that she couldn't run. I'll give you two choices...no...I'll give you three. One, you can either run very far away from this city and the people in it. Two, I can carve out your beating heart and feed it to the dogs. Or three, I can shoot you in the head. he wasn't smiling now.
Your choice.

i've grown tired of the same old story, i'm ready for a change. As Jimmy walked away from her, Vikki felt her breathing get heavier with each step he took. The second he turned around again her pokerface went right back up. Now she was sitting on the edge of the cart. She ddn't know what he was thinking, or what his reaction was to what she had said. She'd known what she'd done the second she agreed to sleep with Justus, she was rattling Jimmy's cage. He'd kill any other girl who did this with no hesitation, was he going to do the same to her?
"I'm sure you have, flowers, chocolates, human hearts.. You're truly are affectionate, capable of winning over any woman's heart I'm sure," she smiled, and it was scary how sincere she looked as he ranted on. He almost sounded jealous, but she'd never point that out to him because Jimmy would deny it until he was blue in the face. She shook her head and took a step closer to him, she knew how to handle this. "I did it all for you, I did it to get your attention. I missed you," she said with the same smile, except making it softer and she shook her head, "I could sleep with anyone I want yet here I am. You think it's for the money?" she laughed, "that's just a bonus.."
While he walked back over to her, she countered his remark by simply saying, "I've given you my word that I'd be here when you called me. I'm here. So technically, you're breaking the contract. It's not my fault that you were unhappy, I agreed to come that night but you refused and sent me away until you were ready for me again," When he pressed up against her she grew slightly more nervous. Again she questioned if he was going to really kill her. She should've left while she had the chance. Damn her hot head.
As he gave her the choices, she turned her gaze away from his and stared off into the distance, locking her jaw as he threatened her. She didn't do well with threats, she was one known to call bluffs. With a sigh, she looked back up at him with the same smileless expression. She'd gotten too good at mirroring his expressions, it was scary. She didn't look like herself at all when she did, but Jimmy did something to her, he brought out a darker side of her that she couldn't control.
"I don't choose any of those," she said at first, her eyes not flickering away from his even for a millisecond to show she wasn't scared. "I choose to stay here, with you. You do what you want with me, but it isn't my choice." Only now did she turn away, staring up at the clown portrait for a second before turning back to look at him, saying the one thing that could help her right now, "I'm still yours. Do with me as you please." WORDS: 499

Jimmy couldn't believe what he was hearing. His own stomach was turning in knots at the prospect of her choosing to stay. But he didn't drop his expressionless face. She knew exactly the right words to say to him to cool his temper, the right words to sooth his mind. The only person who could distract him from work. He hated her. He hated being around her and the way she made him feel.
He listened to her, but the words weren't going in. She hadn't picked. He could feel a lump building in his throat, he hated when people called him out. Pulling his clean white gun from his jacket pocket he loaded the magazine in front of her, slowly an precisely. He wasn't even sure how he'd managed to load it properly but soon he was clicking it back in place.
Slowly he raised it up and rested gently against her head. He couldn't even look at her. His fingers ran over the shiny metal and one curled around the trigger. It felt cold. But his hand were warm and clammy. His breathing sped up, he couldn't. He could feel his heart thumping away in his chest. His thumb pulled back the hammer slowly, cocking the gun into place.
It would only take one more move to kill her. He looked down at the woman in front of him. Blinking slowly. He pulled the metal slightly away from her head and took a deep breath. Jimmy pulled the trigger.
He hear the bullet hit the wooden door to the ride and smash the rotten pine into hundreds of pieces. He hadn't done it. He hadn't killed her.

i've grown tired of the same old story, i'm ready for a change. In the entire time Vikki had spent with Jimmy, she'd never truly felt scared of him. She'd always known what he did, but if anything it made her feel more safe. If she had a client who took things to far she knew Jimmy could take care of it for her. He was not only her client, but he was her protection too. That all seemed to be backfiring now though, considering he hadn't said a word to her even after she had told him the decision was his.
The tension between them was so thick it couldn't even be cut with a butcher knife. She could feel her heart racing in what felt like her stomach, could've been in her throat too. She couldn't tell, she stood there frozen and with slightly widened eyes. The only thing that could be heard was her heart beating in her ear drums. All she could do was watch as Jimmy slid out the beautiful white gun from his jacket. Immediately she started thinking about what would happen after she was dead, because she wasn't going to walk out of this amusement park alive. Strangely enough, she wasn't afraid. Honestly, the life she was living wasn't exactly a life. The only person who would miss her, even know she was gone would be Ryan. Sure he'd miss her, but he'd move on. Her death would have no significance.
She wasn't going to go out like this, not having a pity party. Standing up straight, she stared into his eyes with only a hint of fear. It was more that she was daring him until she had heard the gun cock into place and then everything went silent. Feeling the cold metal pressed against her forehead, the strong girl crumbled. Feeling her bottom lip tremble she gave him one last pleading look before closing her eyes waiting for it to be over. There were a few moments of silence that felt like forever. She felt the cold metal drag across her forehead and in that same instant the gun fire rang in her ear drum. Her eyes closed tight, bracing herself for whatever after life she may face before realizing that she was still concious.
It wasn't until she opened her eyes that she realized she was crying. How pathetic, she thought to herself. She never cried in front of anyone, especially not a client. Finally she had to face the truth that for the first time in a long time she'd truly felt scared. Her heart was still racing and she hadn't realized her hands were shaking until she really paid attention. Her entire body felt weak but she kept herself standing.
"You.. You almost killed me," her voice managed to crack out as she looked into his eyes. "Why didn't you?" WORDS: 469

Jimmy took a deep breath and stood back, slipping the gun back into his jacket pocket. He wouldn't use it in front of her again, he was almost positive of that. He'd seen the fear in her eyes as he'd pulled the trigger and he could see, now, the tears softly running over her cheeks. She shouldn't have tested him, this was her own fault. He shouldn't feel guilty.
Did you want me to kill you? he asked in reply, smoothing out his dark jacket and sliding his hands into the pockets of his pants. He should just leave, she wouldn't want to be around him anymore - he was sure of that. Who would want to be around someone who had just tried to kill them? A madman - or woman.
He shook his head, turning his back on her and leaning against the railings. He looked out over the abandoned park admiring the beauty in the chaos. He looked over his shoulder, at the Ghost Train. Imagining what it would have been like when the park was full - Jimmy would have hated it then. All the screaming happy children. But he loved it now, the eerie silence, doors smashing in the wind. It was perfect.
You can go, he said, dismissing her. He would keep to his work and continue to pay her until the end of the month. But after that, he couldn't have anything more to do with her. There was something there and he was sure that it would grow and become a horrible mess. He couldn't afford to let that happen. If he didn't kill her and she stayed with him - someone else might just do it for him.

i've grown tired of the same old story, i'm ready for a change. Vikki hesitated for a second before stepping towards Jimmy. Any normal person that was in their right state of mind would have ran the opposite direction the second they were given the chance. Vikki had never exactly been right, though. Instead she stood before the man who almost murdered her, a curious gaze still looming in her expression.
"Part of me did, yeah," she admitted, which was probably a stupid thing to do. Last thing she wanted was to give him any ideas, but she couldn't lie and especially not to him. Crossing her legs at the ankles, she rest her arm against the railing Jimmy had been leaning against and shrugged. "I haven't exactly had an easy life, if I had I wouldn't be here," she said with a laugh, unsure why she was telling him this but she kept going, "thank you though, for giving me another chance."
His stare seemed more cold, distant than it normally was. She was unsure of what to say or do. She honestly wanted to know what had been going through his mind right now, but he wasn't one to spill his guts to anyone. Especially not some girl he's known for a few months. It didn't stop her curiosity though as she kept looking up at him unflinchingly. There was an eerie essence between them, and for obvious reasons, but she still felt like her business wasn't done.
When he had dismissed her, she stood there raising an eyebrow. The situation was odd, and she was unsure of what it meant for them. Furrowing her eyebrows, she asked the question that had been inevitable at this point, "so this is done? I mean.. I came to work it out, but only if you see me fit to keep the job.." After saying it, she felt like an idiot. The guy just put a gun to her head and she still wanted to keep seeing him? What was her problem? To be fair, part of her did want to go, forget this ever happened and just move on. Part of her didn't, and that part of her terrified her. It was going to get her killed one of these days, but she wasn't afraid. She loved the thrill. WORDS: 376

Jimmy sighed and ran a hand through his hair and turned to face Vikki. He couldn't believe she was still there, next to him. He admired her for that, at least. Shrugging his shoulders he turned around and leant his back against the rail. I don't understand you, he admitted slowly, in a way that made it seem like he was admitting to killing a small child or digging up a grave - both of which, he had done.
Do you have a death wish? Or do you just think I'm 'exciting'? You like the danger and the fact I could kill you...even when you know I won't, makes this even worse. It's like you're taunting me every fucking second. You love it, don't you? he snapped suddenly turning to her. But he couldn't do anything to her, he wouldn't. There was something stopping him from just slapping her across her face. He knew what it was. But he was never going to admit to that.
Not when he had almost killed his best friend over the same subject.
Taking a deep breath, he straightened up and smoothed out his shirt. Do you want this to work out because of the money? he asked seriously, he remembered her saying something about it just being a bonus. But those had been sweet words to stop him from being an idiot. Did they even hold any meaning with her? He didn't want to have to pay to see her, he didn't want to use her and treat her like dirt. But if he started giving her an inch of his - admittedly few - feelings, then she would take a mile. He couldn't risk that kind of connection, with anyone.
You need to tell me the truth, don't decorate everything with fancy feelings. he said finally, pulling a cigarette box out of his jacket pocket and lighting one up.
