[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Adrienne quickly ordered her coffee -- an iced mochachino -- and sat down at a table with a window. She was relieved to not be working on this particular day. Adrienne had a lot ahead of her. A new school year, meeting people, her roommate and professors included, and it was nice to be able to just sit down and relax for a moment.
"Your order, miss?"
Adrienne looked up. A blonde waitress was leaning over her, offering her the drink she had ordered. "Thanks." She said, gratefully taking the cup.
The waitress sauntered away, leaving Adrienne with her drink, and her thoughts. Adrienne had tried to maintain a positive outlook. Which wasn't hard, since she had just spent the weekend with her mother and sister. And Aunt Bianca. Adrienne had to admit that she missed her family occasionally, but at the same time she was proud of her independence.
Adrienne found herself staring wistfully out the window, thinking about the year ahead of her. Study would need to be done, of course. Adrienne was a hard worker, and proud of her ability to balance work with partying.
Partying. The thought excited Adrienne. She loved to go out and dance, maybe drink a little. Not so much that she passed out, though. Well, usually. There was one or two instances in the past that Adrienne knew her twin would take to her grave.
The redhead leaned back in the arm chair. She would maintain that as long as she kept her positive outlook, all would be well. Of course, Winchester was rife with drama, but Adrienne liked to stay out of all of that. She wasn't completely against dating, but the level of drama tended to cause her to stay away from that area of things. But who knew, maybe this year would be different.

Don't you fuckin' dare! Cam begged a grin on her face as she stepped backward and tripped over the clothes discarded all over her dorm floor. She had noticed someone else's suitcases parked beside one of the three beds, but hadn't really thought anything else of it. There had been some note pinned to her dorm about a new girl - but she had stayed in someone else's room, and hadn't even met this new girl. Cam didn't even know her name. Began with A or something?
However she was a bit preoccupied with the beautiful girl in front of her who was threatening her with a bowl of water. A lot of people had tried to stop Cam smoking, this was one of the more inventive ways - though someone had sprayed a fire extinguisher at her once.
"Put it out, you have a new room-mate, you can't smoke in your dorm anymore," said the girl, a scowl on her face.
Aiight, Aiight, but only because you asked me. Cam replied, stubbing the cigarette out in her ash try, that incidentally was already overflowing.
Cam shook her head, and began getting to her feet when the freezing cold bowl of water met her face. Spluttering she pushed some of her hair out of her eyes, completely surprised.
"That was for the smell...and the fact you can't keep your eyes off other girls when you're supposed to be paying attention to me,"
And with that the other girl turned on her heels and left. Cam shook her head and grabbed a towel from the floor and scruffily dried her hair and changed her shirt. She needed a breather, and a cigarette. Grabbing her skateboard she walked out of her room - not bothering to lock it - and slid down the banister to the ground floor.
Lighting up, she let the cigarette rest between her lips as she casually rolled down the street. She hated the mid-day rush, it was such a chore weaving in and out of people as she went; the least they could do was stay on one side of the side walk. But no, they had to stand right in front of her. Nightmare!
Spotting Starbucks in the distance, her face lit up. Nothing like a black coffee to start her day! Weaving to one side she felt the small bump of someone's toes under her board. Looking back she found herself smiling into the face of a cop. Great.
Well, she wasn't going to wait around to get a fine for riding on the sidewalk, so she picked up her speed, weaving between more people as the cop shouted for her to stop. Luckily she made it into Starbucks a long time before he did. Leaving her board at the door she waved at Casper, who was behind the bar and quickly sat down in a window seat with someone else to see if the cop would notice.
Sorry, hate to barge in like this, I won't stay long, she said, not even looking at the person in front of her, instead she was gazing at the cop who was still running down the street trying to catch her. She snorted and and then her smile returned to her face as Casper handed her her usual. Sweet! she exclaimed, handing over the money and settling down to drink her coffee.
Just as she remembered she had barged into someone's table. Looking up her eyes widened slightly at the beautiful red-head in front of her. Aiight? I'm Cam. Nice to meet you, she began, biting her bottom lip slightly, Just had to hide from a cop - Y'know how it is~

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] "Adrienne." the redhead responded. The last thing she had expected sitting down at Starbucks was to run into (or more accurately, be run into by) a woman running from the police. But this was Vegas, and Adrienne was a firm believer in adapting.
She had of course, never run from the cops personally. She'd been to a couple of parties in her early adolescence that had been prematurely ended by the police, so it was fair to say she had at least some idea where Cam was coming from. So she nodded. "Yeah."
Adrienne leaned back and assessed the girl in front of her. She was rather pretty, in that punk-rocker-Joan-Jett way. "You go to Winchester?" Adrienne asked, tilting her head. She wanted to get to know people here, and this Cam girl seemed interesting. What with the hiding from the cops and all.
Adrienne offered the girl in front of her a smile and gestured to the seat opposite her. "Sit with me." as she toyed with the olive-colored scarf around her neck.

Cam sat down in the seat she was offered and popped the lid to her coffee. She usually got it to go, which was why she was now drinking from the cardboard cup. But seeing as this girl had invited her to stay, she might as well stay. Besides, she had nothing else planned for the day and this girl was certainly very beautiful.
Wait, Adrienne Crowley? Cam said slowly, raising an eyebrow slightly. So you're my new room-mate! she exclaimed, leaning back in her chair and flashing the girl a smile.
I apologise for the mess it's currently in, I haven't had time to clean it. And the floor is a bit wet - someone poured a bowl of water over my head this morning. she said, trying to justify the state of her room before Adrienne saw it properly.
Taking a sip of her coffee, Cam nodded at the question. Yeah, I'm a music nerd. How about you? she asked, leaning forward slightly to show she was very interested in what the girl had to say...or the way her lips moved when she talked.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Adrienne grinned. Meeting her roommate was on her to-do list. (Her mental to do list, because, really, who actually writes those thing down?) "Great!" she said, grinning broadly at the girl in front of her.
The red head smiled. "Yeah, me too." She thought for a moment before adding. "I'm really into Secondhand Serenade at the moment." Thinking that she should probably mention the other subjects she was taking, Adrienne added "Oh, and I'm also taking Marine Biology, Psychology, History and Creative Writing."
Adrienne giggled "I know it seems like a lot" she said. "But... We'll see."
Adrienne moved her hands a lot when she talked. A lot. Some people hated it, and some people thought it was cute. For the sake of friendship, Adrienne hoped Cam was one of the latter. The last thing she needed was her roommate thinking she was a complete dork.

Cam smiled as she drank her coffee, watching the animated girl in front of her. She was adorable. She grinned when she realised they would be taking some of the same classes. She nodded, even thought she hadn't really heard any of that's band's music. Despite her rock-n-roll attire and her attitude, she really just loved to move to dubstep and rap.
Her eyes widened and she blinked slowly when the other girl extended into fields Cam didn't even know existed. Marine Biology? Yeah, that is a lot...I can hardly keep up with my music homework! she exclaimed, finishing her coffee in one big gulp.
So seeing as we're sharing a room together, I guess we best get to know each other. Hmm, lets see, she mused, biting her tongue.
I'm twenny-two, I like girls, I DJ at the local clubs and I like the colour green. Your turn~

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Adrienne nodded when Cam mention homework. "Yeah." She said. "I'm a bit nervous about the homework, but I think I'll do okay" Adrienne was a hard worker, and while keeping up with her homework wasn't usually easy, it wasn't impossibly hard, either
"Okay," Adrienne laughed and pushed a lock of her red hair behind her ear. "I'm nineteen, I like... Well, I guess you could say I'm 'experimenting'. I work here, as an assistant, but not right now, I like rain, and I have a tendency to, uh, talk with my hands"
The latter was probably very obvious, but Adrienne though that she should mention it anyway. "So, Cam," Adrienne began, smiling. "What do you do for fun around here?" Vegas was a fairly big place. It had cliques, although they weren't as clearly drawn as they were in high school, different people went to different places for fun, and Adrienne wondered where Cam went. Wow you really are just fresh outta high school, Cam said, resting his chin in her hands, her elbows on the table - something her mother had told her constantly not to do. I hope the real world isn't too much of a disappointment for you, she said, flashing the girl a friendly smile.
It had been Cam's mother that had had the high hoped for her daughter. Becoming a lawyer, earning a lot of money, wearing suits and - urgh - skirts. But it just wasn't Cam's thing. She preferred the darker side of life. Drugs, alcohol and a loud steady beat. She had quit high school with no real qualifications and gone into underground music. Playing in dark and dirty nightclubs for next to nothing.
It had been by chance that her music teacher had been in the same club and offered her a space at the college there and then. It was the only reason she was still there. To prove to him that he didn't make a terrible decision, inviting her to Winchester.
You're lucky you got a job here, Cam said, looking over her shoulder to where Casper was still working. Getting a job is becoming more and more difficult. Cam had thought a few times about getting a normal job - just to keep up with bills and other payments. But it just never fit in with her courses and her DJing.
Hmm, I don't think you should base your ideas of 'fun' around what I do - otherwise you'll be running from the cops, same as me. But I usually spend time at the skate park, or the gym, she began, smirking a little at the word gym. Although she went a few times, it was by no means her location of choice. Otherwise, I mean...there's always the student bar or Mercy, if you wanna get drunk for a cheap price.
Cam bit her lip and shrugged, I go to Amnesia sometimes, but that's probably not your scene. You look far to innocent to be in place like that.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Adrienne laughed at Cam’s comment. It was more or less true; she was fresh out of high school. Although Adrienne hadn’t lived away from home before, she was beginning to like it. Yes, she missed her sister, but that was something she’d have to muddle through for her freedom. “Definitely not a disappointment.” Adrienne said, returning the brunette’s smile.
Adrienne’s mother had been less than thrilled at the prospect of her daughter switching Oklahoma for Las Vegas. Not only was it a huge change, but Arielle had been concerned about Las Vegas corrupting her daughter. What she didn’t know was that Adrienne had been going to raves since she was fifteen, but Adrienne wasn’t about to tell her mother that. Besides, it wasn’t like Adrienne was running around prostituting herself. She was a college student.
“Yeah, I know what you mean.” Adrienne said, nodding. Getting a job was next to impossible these days, but Adrienne had gotten in early with her position at Starbucks. There had only been one position left when Adrienne had been interviewed, and she was relieved that she got it.
“The gym?” Adrienne asked, making a face. She wasn’t a big fan of getting sweaty anywhere outside of her bedroom. Preferably with someone else. Adrienne nodded as Cam went on to mention the student bar and Mercy. She’d heard of it, seen fliers around. As far as she could figure, it was some nightclub. “I might check out Mercy sometime.” She said casually.
Adrienne giggled when Cam commented on her being innocent. “Oh, I’m not as innocent as I look.” She said, with a wink. Adrienne had no idea what Amnesia was, but she made a mental note to visit. The way Cam had mentioned it, it sounded like a good place to go to party.

Mercy is alright, everyone goes there, Cam began, running her fingers over the wood grain that was embedded in the table. Their DJ is a good guy - Will. He's not as good as me, of course. He doesn't study music...but he's not that bad, she smiled softly and looked up at the redhead, blinking slowly before straightening up and running a hand through her unruly brown hair.
She nodded slowly at the wink, and smirked a little. You're not innocent? she asked, an eyebrow raising, Well then, maybe I'll take you one day. I wouldn't want all the dolls to pounce on you on your first visit. Cam flashed the other girl a knowing smile.
Biting her bottom lip she looked out of the window and then back to Adrienne, playing with her empty coffee cup. Suddenly she cleared her throat and got to her feet. Well it looks like the cop has gone, she said with a sigh, making it sound like she was just leaving Adrienne without a goodbye, until she extended her hand for the girl to take.
What about I give you a tour? she said with a grin, as if she was about to pull the poor girl into her web. The bucket of water that morning hadn't been the first breakup Cam had seen since she had been in Vegas, and she was sure it wasn't going to be the last.

[/style] [atrb=border,0,true] Adrienne grinned and giggled at Cam’s comments about Mercy. A nightclub, of course, but probably not the only one. This was Vegas, after all, nightclubs were common and drugs and alcohol was currency. Adrienne loved it, she felt completely in her element.
The redhead smirked. “Oh, I don’t mind a little pouncing.” She responded, leaning back in her chair casually. “Dolls, huh? I’m guessing you’re not talking about the porcelain kind.” Adrienne smirked at Cam. She was really starting to like the girl. Rooming was always a risk; there was always the chance that you wouldn’t mesh with your roommate.
Adrienne looked up at Cam in surprise, disappointed that her new friend was leaving. A smile spread across her face when Cam offered her a hand. “A tour would be great.” The redhead said, taking the offered hand and standing up.
Adrienne gave Cam her hand back and fell in step beside her as the two left Starbucks. “So,” she began, still grinning broadly. “Where are you taking me first?” Adrienne loved Vegas, and she liked Cam, so why not take her up on her offer of a tour? Besides, Adrienne wasn’t in Vegas just to study. She wanted to make some friends, too.
