Notes: Lol....so. Dumb. "BITCH CALL HIM." (:
Maybe Oakley was being dramatic. Like she had written in that dumb notebook of hers, they weren't that close, her and Teddy. All they were were two people who happened to enjoy each other's company...among other things.
It only made sense that this would happen. Some mystery mafia was killing people off like flies, and no one could afford to be careless around Winchester. Maybe that's why Oakley hadn't thought of making sure ole Jimmy Noir's was true by actually calling Teddy. Though, when you hear someone dies, you tend to believe no one would ever kid about a thing like that.
Oakley hadn't really cried over it. She mostly just sat in her dorm, staring at the ceiling for a really long time. Se didn't know what to think. Should she call the police? They wouldn't believe her. And what if it wasn't true? What if Jimmy was just picking on her because she didn't join his stupid club? But, seriously, who would lie about killing someone? Ugh, it was a mess.
All Oakley wanted was a friend to talk to really. Of course, what was there to say? "So, yeah, apparently this guy I fucked once or twice was murdered, you know, supposedly. And I don't really know what to think, so...." God, it was all stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. But, alas, some happy young girl was there to the rescue, and Oakley couldn't say no to a heart to heart at that point. Of course, Ryan offered, too, but in all honesty, Oakley didn't really trust herself with a boy right then. She already felt terrible for fooling around while Teddy was "missing" from her life, why chance another time. It was bound to happen, especially with Ryan.
Sighing, Oakley made the decision to head over to Danny's place. She seemed nice enough, and she hadn't seen Oakley's bad sad just yet, so that meant Danny was being genuinely nice to her. After getting the directions, Oakley made a beeline to the hippie's apartment in about twenty minutes time. Arriving at the door, the brunette took a deep breath before quietly knocking. "Knock Knock. It's Oakley." said Oakley, her voice unusually soft-spoken. Here goes letting down walls for the first time, well, ever.

Danny wasn't sure what was happening on the chat, or anywhere on campus yet. She was the 'new girl' still, and this made making friends much harder than if her roots were already planted. That's why she had been so happy to meet Oakley, who appeared to be one of those 'it' girls that generally she avoided. Oakley looked perfect, and she seemed to have the world wrapped around her finger. And though Danny loved her life, she couldn't help but bin a little envious of her. Who wouldn't be?
So when her new 'friend' seemed a bit distressed, what kind of person would Danielle be if she didn't open her home to the other girl and offer an unbiased ear and some baked goodies? One with bad karmic energy and enough brownies to feed a small African country, that's what kind of person.
She rushed to tidy up the place, and make it presentable. She had lost track of time in between picking up the loose sheets of the job applications that were scattered across the table, and throwing her dirty clothes in the back room, when Oakley's voice called through the door after a short knock.
"Oakley! Hi, come in!" She waved the other girl in after opening the door and surprising her with a quick embrace. Touch was one of the basic of human necessities, and Danny was more than happy to dole them out. Everyone needs the chance to feel happy and appreciated.
"Make yourself comfortable," She said, gesturing at the worn-in turquoise couch with large, celestial print pillows thrown in the corners. She hoped Oakley wasn't allergic to dogs, or annoying fourteen year old boys, who were going through puberty. Licorice was shut in the bedroom, but there was only so long the poor lab-dalmatian mix could stay there. And Danny's mother enjoyed dropping her son off randomly with his big sister so she could 'hit the town'. The lean girl crossed her fingers mentally that her mother wouldn't ruin her chance of being friends with Oakley.
Shaking it from her mind, she sat down on the couch and glanced at the other girl. "Do you need some tea? You look like you haven't slept," Danny said, noticing the sort of vacant look on Oakley's face. Something was stressing this girl out big time, and her instincts told her to just let Oakley take her time and share her story if she wanted to.

As Oakley was lead in, she couldn't help but sort of regret what she was about to do. She had never been one to just spill her heart to someone, let alone a complete stranger. She didn't know if this girl was someone to trust, or if she was one of those girls that blabbed everything to their little friends. Or worse, what if she was the gossip girl? Okay, she was overreacting. This sweet little gem wouldn't tell a soul, she knew that. What was she thinking.
Sitting down on the couch very cautiously, she looked up at the strange Danny, who was asking her if she needed anything. "Tea, Uh, sounds great." she said, sort of hesitantly. Tea? Oakley wasn't very big on tea, but she'd seen in shows and movies that it helped some things. Perhaps it would help with the giant knot settling in her stomach.
After a moment of silence, Oakley sighed heavily. And with that sigh, a wave of sadness came over her and tears were suddenly streaming down her face, her make up going down with it. Oh, God, Oakley, you're making a fool of yourself.
"I don't know, Danny...I just...I DON'T CRY OVER THINGS. not Even deaths...what is-" she paused, remembering Danny hadn't been around the chat to witness what Oakley had been told. "I slept with this guy...A music professor...And-And..." she couldn't bring herself to say the actual words, so all she did was burst into tears once again, hiding her face with her hands. "Someone killed him!" she muttered. It was barely audible through her muffled sobs.

Danny nodded and leapt to the kitchen, quickly filling two glasses with a raspberry tea she had been brewing. She carried the glasses back, along with a small plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and placed the glass in Oakley's hands. Setting the plate of cookies on the table, she apologized as she went. "Sorry if the tea is a bit sweet, I forgot about it for a couple minutes too long," Danny smiled softly and shrugged. She wasn't the best tea-maker, it wasn't the end of the world. The cookies were still up to par, and that's all that mattered.
She let Oakley sit there, not sure if she should speak, or just let the silence be. A sip into her own glass, the other girl began crying, sobbing really, smearing her makeup down her cheeks. Oh you poor girl, Danny thought, wanting to reach across and wipe off the smeared makeup and the tears before she even heard the story behind the tears.
"What? Oh my gosh, that's terrible!" Danny set her glass onto the worn coffee table, slid over to Oakley's side. She grabbed the crying female's hand, began patting her shoulder, in a comforting way. "I'm so sorry, I can't imagine what you're going through, but I know it can't be easy," She admitted, batting her doe-eyes to keep from tearing up herself. Never before having had that intimate feeling between another person, Danny couldn't even think about how hard it would feel to loose someone she cared enough to give her body to. In her mind, that was a sign of true love; of being connected.

Oakley took the cup of tea willingly, but Didn't really want it. She was to upset. She couldn't think about tea. All she could think about was how her...There wasn't even a name for him, had died, kicked the bucket, pushed up daisies...all of that. It was frightening. How was she suppose to sit there an happily drink raspberry tea when someone she "cared" about was gone forever?
Letting the tears roll freely now, she leaned into her host and let out a large "hmph", almost like a pout. She was right. She "couldn't imagine" what Oakley was going through. It was too odd of a situation. "It's terrible, Danny. I can't even talk to anyone about it. Everyone thinks I'm heartless. HEARTLESS. can you believe that? So, I, being me, pretend to be to please them, but here I am, in a crisis, crying my eyes out...to someone I don't even know! ....No offense. I don't know how to act. It's not like I really like-liked him..." she said, refusing to say the L-word, and pulling herself up to look at Danny.
"We just had sex once...twice...okay, a few times. But, still, I feel horrible. Like I've been punched in the stomach." she continued rambling, barely audible through her tears still. Looking away, ashamed of herself, she muttered "Sorry, I'm being pathetic."

The girl sat there, fingering a dread, while listening to Oakley sympathetically. She nodded here and there, and made reassuring sounds, like, "Oh no," and "Mmm,". Heartless? Someone obviously ticked this beautiful girl off to an extreme, since Danielle had seen nothing but kindness, (and the occasional protective shield of sarcasm), from Oakley.
She swallowed a bit when Oakley explained the casual relationship she had with the man, even when it was completely obvious to the hippie child that there was more to the story.
"You aren't being pathetic!" Danny protested with a gentle smile. She leaned over and collected Oakley into a hug, pushing aside her slight discomfort with strangers. Oakley was a sweet girl, and she needed someone to be there for her, so Danny was chosen for some strange reason to be her shoulder to lean on. She smoothed the other girl's hair and brushed her bangs from her face, warm from the tears, before scooting back on the couch and pulling her own knees to her chest. Poor Oakley. The most impacting death Danny had experienced was Duke, her old golden lab that died of cancer. But never had she had to endure the loss of a beloved human. Poor, poor Oakley.
Notes: Hannah, STFU. It's better than mine.

As the brunette continued to cry, she began to analyze the situation at hand. Oakley was not a crier. She wasn't one of those girls that wore their heart on their sleeve and bawled their eyes out every time something unfortunate happened to them. She was one of those girls that brushed everything off with a sarcastic snub and and a shrug. So, sitting here, laying everything on the table for someone she didn't even know very well was new for her. Very new. She couldn't tell if she liked it or not.
Leaning into Danny, she let out a loud "hmph" as if tired from all the crying. "I am pathetic. I shouldn't cry. Teddy is just a guy....was just a guy. I-I can't believe I'm telling you all this." she said looking up at the dread-headed girl with a distressed expression on her face. "I think I might've had a crush on him. I've never really had one of those before. I mean, I have, but not this way. I didn't just want to fuck around. And, I didn't realize it until right now." she said, a big tear falling down her cheek. "It doesn't matter anymore." she whispered, pulling herself up and grabbing the tea off the coffee table before taking a large gulp.
Setting it back down, she slumped back into the chair and looked over at Danny. "Have you ever felt like that?" she said with interest interest voice. If only Danny knew how uncharacteristic that was for Oakley.
