Malls had never been Farren's thing, really. Growing up, she hardly payed any attention to the latest trends, and as far as she could remember, there really wasn't a need for new clothes. Her weight and height hardly eve fluctuated, leaving her with the same outfits every year as she went through school.
Well, sort of. The girl had grown sick of being the nerd girl by the time she entered her freshman year of college, and suddenly her clothes she'd been wearing since grade 8 were replaced with other, "cooler" things. Call it what you will, but she didn't consider it conformity. She considered it as a new beginning. She wasn't about to be taunted by immature idiots in college, and like the obviously wise always say "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em."
Actually, she sort of liked shopping. The smell of a pair of new shoes straight out of the store was intoxicating. The way she felt when she got to wear a new dress was pure bliss. Shopping was now something she enjoyed more than anything, other than, well, writing and reading...and music. Okay okay, so maybe it wasn't her big time love, but she enjoyed it nonetheless.
The girl had found herself walking aimlessly through a large department store, looking for something to wear to Benji's infamous animal party. She hadn't exactly planned on going, but she knew that Benji would want her there, as well as her other friends. Why did she have so many friends who were her polar opposite? The girl shrugged at her thoughts, thumbing through the various racks in the front of the store. Seeing a nice dress she liked, she move a thin finger along the price tag an jumped at the three little numbers "$100.00? Goodness! Are you kidding me?" she said, silencing herself soon after by looking around. The sales clerks all had their eyes on her. She then laughed nervously, biting her lip before mouthing "Sorry." Maybe she should give up on malls again. Didn't they know college students were poor?

Simon didn't really need to shop anymore. He ended up here every weekend, purchasing things just to charge to his parents credit card. Give them a little reminder that they still had a son (because that was better than actually dropping in for a pleasant chat).
His condo (his parent's condo) was already packed to the brim with random, unnecessary items. He was pretty sure he had three margarita makers. How they were even allowed to sell those things to eighteen year olds, Simon still didn't girl. He'd bought a massage chair last week that also had built in cup-holders and a tv-screen in the arm rest. It was sitting in the back of his guest room, collecting dust now. But, hey, what else was one to use three gold master cards for?
He couldn't think of anything better to spend them on.
At the moment he was wandering Nordstrom, looking at all the expensive watches he could buy. None of them were his taste, but, hey, if they were just expensive enough, his parents might give him a call. It wouldn't be a pleasant call, but it'd be the first time he'd heard either of their voices in, what? Four, five months now?
Smirking at a $2,600 Nixon watch, he left the jewelry to explore the rest of the department store. As he was strolling past the women's petite section he heard someone speaking about the prices on one of the dresses. A hundred bucks? He was thinking to himself. That's nothing.
Smiling in amusement, he sauntered over to the girl, leaning against the clothes rack, "Just slip it into your bag, no one'll even miss it." He joked lightly, aware of the fact that the sales clerk was still in ear-shot, throwing the lady a bright, innocent smile. Turning his glance back to the girl, he looked to the dress again,
"It is pretty nice, though... But you should probably model it for me. Just to make sure." He commented casually, smirking slightly, twirling the tag of the dress around his finger.

Usually, Farren steered clear from boys like Simon. She had a low tolerance for douche bags, and if she were to look up the word in a dictionary, she'd see his face smirking up at her. He was selfish, rude, mean, conceited, everything she was against. Though, it seemed she was stuck by his side. She wasn't the type of girl to ignore someone because of what she had been threw in her younger years, and so, there she stayed, an amused smirk turning her pink lips upwards.
She had met the boy only a few times around school, having conversations with him from time to time. Mostly arguments, but some were genuine conversations she sort of enjoyed. His flirting was a bit much, but it wasn't like she minded it. It made her feel good to be noticed so positively.
"Just slip it into your bag, no one'll even miss it."
Did Mr. King Bee rich boy just ask her to play the five finger discount game? She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Last time I checked, you have a hundred dollars just lying around at your house. Why would the thought of stealing ever cross your mind?" she asked. Of course, he probably knew she wasn't exactly upper class like him, and was just trying to help, but in all honesty, he wasn't.
Then, the brunette decided to continue to push her buttons:
"It is pretty nice, though... But you should probably model it for me. Just to make sure."
The girl wanted to be mean, she really did, but for some reason, she couldn't help but giggle. "Oh, model it for you? Simon, don't you have a girl to charm or something somewhere? What're you doing here in the women's department?" she asked, grabbing the dress and nodding her head for him to know she wanted him to follow her to the dressing rooms. She actually could use his opinion.

Simon shrugged his shoulders, the same innocent smile he'd given the sales clerk on his face as she asked him why on earth a rich kid like him would ever consider stealing. Just because he was rich didn't mean he hadn't tried stealing. It was more about the thrill of getting away with something than anything. And Simon seemed to get away with a lot.
"Well, I'd offer to buy it for you if you'd wear it for me sometime." He winked, nudging her lightly to show her he was joking...mostly.
Putting a hand to his chest when she asked him whether he had some slut waiting somewhere for him, acting hurt,
"Ouch, Farren." He said, although a smirk crossed his face a moment later.
"Why do you think?" He chuckled lightly, "To pick up some chicks to model expensive dresses for me." He teased, watching as she turned to head towards the dressing room. So, he was getting a show. Grinning as he followed her, he leaned against the door to one of the occupied dressing rooms.
"If you have any trouble zipping it up just call for me." He said smirk still plastered to his face.

Farren couldn't help but roll her eyes as he tried to be Mr. Suave n' Smooth. She was most definitely not the type to think smooth was hot, and so, his act never worked on her. Of course, it did manage to get a little giggle out of her.
Stealing, ha! Like she would do that. The shirt was only $100, and if she were to ever steal something, she'd do it big. Like the old saying, "Go big, or go home". She couldn't just go home though. She had to find an outfit for this party! At first, it was only a party she was being dragged to, but now, there was a boy involved. She couldn't just show up looking like an ugly mouse. She had to look cute and adorable. Yes, that was a must.
As she walked into the dressing room, she hung the dress up on a hanger and turned back to face her friend who was now leaning up against the dressing room door opposite her. "I just want you to tell me if it looks good or not, Simon. If it does, I'll have to splurge. I'm not going to take your money."
Shutting the door behind her, she removed her clothes and began slipping on the dress. She laughed a little at his next comment though. Like she would let him get anywhere near her like that. Standing on her toes to look over at him, she smiled and replied "I think I'm fine! Almost there....okay!" she said, plopping back down on her feet to push open the door. She then shyly stepped out and gave a little twirl, the polkadot dress raising lightly at her spin. She stopped, her eyes widening and staring back at the boy. "Okay. Do your worst. What do you think?"
