"Two years ago today, a man and woman were found dead in a house on Ester Street that gloomy Saturday morning. Even after this long, authorities still haven't found a lead. The families steadily hop-" "Bitch please..." the dark-skinned beauty yelled, flipping off the tv in front of her before tossing the small remote onto the floor, making a seemingly large thud that could probably be heard on the next floor of apartments below. Honestly, Ebony didn't care if she disturbed someone. Fuck them, they didn't matter to her. They don't like her noise? They could move.
Maybe she was a bit angry today. Of course, who wouldn't be, when it was the two year anniversary of their hiding from the feds. Yuh yuh, you'd be pissed, too just knowing you'd caused that much trouble for yourself before your life had even begun.
On the other hand, he deserved it, him and that dumb bitch. That was HER man, and none of this would've happened if he hadn't strayed away from her and fucked some sleazy-ass hoe. He deserved it, just remember that, Sandra...Oh, Ebony. You're Ebony now.
Sitting on her bed in the small cheap apartment, Ebony huffed, throwing her head in her hands and letting out a few choice words. She was so conflicted. She knew what she had done was wrong, but wasn't adultery wrong also? Hell yes, it was. And again, if he hadn't done it, she wouldn't be in this mess, this moving from state to state, hiding, changing her name...It was all his fault. All of it. Stop blaming yourself for his shit Looking back up, she felt the anger sort of fade away, and suddenly, all she wanted to do was let everything go for one night. She'd spent the last anniversary of the deed crying because of how upset she was. That was in Florida. This was Las Vegas, sin city. It was almost a must to go out and forget your bad things you did in the past, right?
Nodding to her own question, the girl got dressed and decided it was time to check out the club scene. She could use a night to just get wasted, dancing the night away. She deserved that much. It'd been awhile.
An hour or so later, she found herself sitting on a bar stool at the Mercy night club, in a tight little black number and some matching high heels, sipping on some concoction the bartender had whipped up in response to her "Surprise me" request, staring off into the dancing crowd. This'll get her mind off of it all hopefully.
