[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: d3d3d3; width: 370px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;]wretched, look at me, i've lost it melting on the table, in parking lots and markets. "Well," Alicia said as she stood infront of her full length mirror overlooking her outfit, "here goes nothing." She felt like she hadn't seen Micah in forever. Probably because she, well.. hadn't. It had been at least three weeks if not more since they had last spoken face to face. Inbetween that they'd have short conversations through text messages that he'd forget to respond to. Alicia didn't mind, though. She'd had enough going on herself with Samantha, her recent ex girlfriend. Sure she was nice at first, but that faded quickly when she became a bit too clingy and Alicia had to end it. Even though she says to everyone they're on mutual terms Samantha had turned into a slight stalker. Hearing her phone vibrate Alicia groaned aloud, knowing who it was.
Her eyes widened when it wasn't though, it was Micah. "Hey, you on your way yet?" She laughed out loud reading the text, her smile going practically from ear to ear. He was always so impatient when it came to them hanging out. It was sweet, in an odd way. Friendly, of course. That's all they were and he knew that right?
She pushed those thoughts aside as she got into her car, starting it and pulling out of the parking lot of the dorms before heading in the direction to Micah, or what was Justus', house. Her thoughts were going a million miles per hour as Justus' name popped up into her head. She'd seen the look in Micah's eyes when he first got back from the funeral in San Jose, he was torn up from the inside out and she didn't know how to help. Him telling her that he was doing better sort of eased her mind, but she'd have to see it for herself to truly believe it. I guess we'll see right now, won't we.. she thought to herself as she let out a sigh, keeping her eyes on the road.
It only took about ten minutes before she had parallel parked on the side of the road in front of Micah's place. It was dark and dead silent on that street, fairly common but still slightly eery. Her converse hitting the pavement seemed to echo as she walked up the steps to his porch before knocking on the door. "Shoot!" she shouted under her breath before running back to her car, realizing she had left her purse in it. As she was getting out of her car she hit her head on the roof and moaned in pain, rubbing her head and looked up to see Micah standing at the door with an award winning smile that matched her own. She felt her cheeks flush as she locked her car again and walked back up to the house.
She cleared her throat as she approached him, pointing her arm in the direction of her car as she explained, "I left my purse.. In the car." Then letting out a laugh, she took the same arm and wrapped it around his waist pulling him into a hug. "I've missed you."

Micah had settled with just a t-shirt and a pair of Nike shorts, and stood in his new kitchen preparing Ramen Noodles. Usually, if someone felt the feeling that Alicia gave him, they would dress up in perfection. Micah felt like he could be comfortable in lounge wear preparing a instant meal for the two, and Alicia would most likely be more impressed than him setting the table up like it was fine dining, not like he knew how to do that anyways. And unlike most friends or just people around him in general she made him feel like it was okay to just take a breather. To not worry about Justus and Jimmy or Rufio being angry with him for spending so much "fatherly-son" time together.
Walking from the kitchen to the living room, Micah turned on the surround sound then the radio a wide smile spreading across his face as he realized the song Animal by Neon Trees and nodded his head along to the beat. The sound made him flash back to the morning Alicia and him were on the way to get coffee together. Of course, he was grumpy but as soon as she'd heard the song, she turned it all the way up and started dancing her seat giggling at his reactions until he laughed along with her. That had been a week before he had to break the news to Alicia about Lacey.
Immediately frowning at the reminder, Micah poured the two bowls of Ramen Noodles. It wasn't like he cared about Lacey at all anymore. He did before, but now he didn't, at all. All he was trying to do was protect his friend from a girl like her. It also wasn't like he was out to get Lacey, but if it wasn't for the chase, Alicia would never be appealing to Lacey as much as she is now. Alicia deserved better than that.
His thoughts being disturbed, Micah went to the door and opened it to see no one there. His first thought was it must be some immature kids running around the neighborhood, but as he stepped out he caught full sight of Alicia bumping her head. First, Micah bit his lip to keep from laughing but failed. "Way to go." He grinned as he wrapped his arms around her and returned the hug. It felt nice. Her against him. Quickly pulling away, Micah grabbed her hand and pulled her inside.
"So welcome to uh..Rodriguez residence?" Glancing at her with a worried look he changed the topic before she could comment on how big the house was. Micah pointed toward the two bowls sitting on the island in the kitchen. "Oh..I got Ramen Noodles! You like them don't you?" ___________________________________________________________________________ Word Count 460 Inspiration Take Care by Drake ft. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: d3d3d3; width: 370px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;]wretched, look at me, i've lost it melting on the table, in parking lots and markets. Hearing Micah's laugh was like music to her ears. There wasn't anything in the world like the sound of laughter in her eyes. She lived for making people happy, making people feel happy. From the way his eyes also lit up when she hugged him she figured she'd done something right, and it made her feel great. The tension between them was impossible to ignore, no matter how hard she pushed it aside. She had to, she couldn't put herself into that kind of situation. Especially with Micah, her only close friend in Las Vegas so far.
When he grabbed her hand, Alicia tried not to pay too much mind to it. A lot of guys- and girls, did it. It was more of a friendly gesture to her and she knew he most likely felt the same way about it (at least that's what she told herself.) As they walked further into the house she felt her jaw go slack while her eyes scanned across the living room. It looked like a hollywood mansion, or at least the set of one in a movie. As he welcomed her in, she smiled and responded with a simple, "thank you." She couldn't help but giggle at the tone in his voice, it was so awkward and she could tell it still made him uncomfortable. "I can't believe this place," was all she managed to say as he cut her off.
The excitement in his voice made Alicia smile, her lips pursed together as she looked up at him. She couldn't tell if he had been serious about her liking ramen or not, and half of her wanted to just pretend to dislike them and freak him out for a second but she decided against it. Went easy on him, as she had told herself in her head. "I love ramen, of course. Who doesn't?" she said as she walked over and stood infront of the second bowl and waited for him to stand beside her. "Do you mind if I grab a glass of water too?" she asked him before going to start looking for herself. Turning to look at him and smile as he guided her to the right part of the kitchen. It, like the rest of the house appeared to be, was large, neat, and very well put together. His family definitely had an eye for detail, she liked that.
Pouring both herself and Micah a glass, assuming he'd want one as well, she walked back over to the side of the island he was on. After setting the glass down beside his bowl, she decided to bluntly ask him, "so are we going to keep standing here or are we going to sit down and eat?"
